It's Finally Over

None POV:

Mylene's lips twitched into a smirk as she rose once more. "Your Honor, while opposing counsel speaks of personal challenges, and you gave Ms. Tsurugi the right to see her daughter even if Emma don't want her, the truth is far more concerning. My client has evidence that Ms. Tsurugi is an unfit parent due to her history of drug abuse."

The room erupted into murmurs, and Kagami shot to her feet. "That's a lie" she shouted

The judge banged his gavel. "Order in the court! Ms. Tsurugi, sit down."

Mylene remained calm, unfazed by Kagami's outburst "Your Honor, I have proof" She approached the bench, handing over a file. "This file contains photographs, receipts, and witness statements detailing Ms. Tsurugi's drug use and reckless behavior. It's clear that placing Emma in her custody would be detrimental to the child's well being. Depending on the files, she has been consuming drugs for three years, not forgetting the attempt of kidnapping her own daughter from school which is a crime itself"

The judge opened the file, his brow furrowing as he flipped through the pages. After a long moment, he looked up "Ms. Tsurugi, do you have any rebuttal to this evidence?"

Kagami's face was pale, her mouth opening and closing as she struggled to find words.

The judge nodded firmly. "Ms. Tsurugi, this court has reviewed your case thoroughly. It is clear that your intentions toward your daughter, Emma, have been in question for some time. However, the evidence that has come to light is deeply troubling."

The judge paused for a moment, her gaze never leaving Kagami, who seemed to shrink under the weight of those words.
"It has been brought to my attention that you have been involved in illegal drug use. And I must emphasize, drug use... especially the kind that impairs judgment and affects the safety of a child... cannot and will not be tolerated in a custodial parent."

Kagami's heart skipped a beat. Her eyes flickered toward Adrien as he was smirking

Then the judge continued "depending on this file received confirming that you have been in possession of drugs and abusing of the use"

Kagami felt a wave of dread wash over her. She opened her mouth, but no words came out. Her mind raced, scrambling for any explanation, any defense... but there was nothing that could undo the evidence in front of them.
"Because of these findings, the court has no choice but to immediately revoke any custodial rights or visitation you may have had regarding Emma. In light of this evidence, I have reached a decision. Custody of Emma Agreste will remain with her father, Adrien Agreste, permanently. Furthermore, Ms. Tsurugi, you are to be put in jail for five years for drug dealing, possession and consuming.... Court is over"

Gasps filled the room as two officers approached Kagami, placing her in handcuffs. She glared at Adrien and Marinette, but neither spared her a glance.

Adrien leaned over to Marinette, squeezing her hand tightly. "It's over" he whispered, relief washing over him "Emma is safe."

Marinette nodded, tears streaming down her face as she smiled at him. They had won.

Adrien's piercing emerald eyes locked on Kagami as the officers cuffed her wrists. Kagami's glare was venomous, her lips curled in defiance. Adrien's jaw tightened as he watched, his fists clenching at his sides.

"Hold on" Adrien said to the officers "I need a word."

The officers hesitated but nodded, stepping aside as Adrien approached Kagami. He stopped just a foot away, towering over her
