None POV:
It had been two weeks since Emma's third birthday and the chaos with her mother. It hadn't been easy, but the little toddler had found comfort in the arms of Marinette, who was always there to make things better. Today was one of those days where the mansion felt warm, filled with Emma's giggles and Marinette's soft laughter.
Marinette sat at her desk, working on her graphic tablet, her fingers moving quickly over the screen as she sketched designs for Adrien's fashion company.
Emma was perched on her lap, munching on cookies Marinette had baked for her earlier. The little toddler was fascinated by what Marinette was drawing, her eyes wide with curiosity.
Emma: what are you drawing, Mari?
She asked, as she stuffed another cookie into her mouth. Marinette smiled down at her, adjusting the tablet so Emma could see.
Marinette: I'm working on a new dress for your father's collection. Do you like it?
The toddler leaned closer, staring at the screen
Emma: it's so pretty. Can I help?
Marinette: of course
The bluenette chuckled. She took Emma's small hand in hers, guiding it over the tablet as they drew a line together and they keep like that. Emma's face lit up with excitement as she saw the results.
Emma: I did it.
She squealed, clapping her hands, crumbs flying everywhere.
Marinette: you sure did. Maybe you will be a designer just like me one day,
She said, laughing at Emma's enthusiasm. Emma shook her head, still smiling.
Emma: no, I wanna be the boss like papa. He is the biggest boss ever.
Marinette: well, being the boss sounds like fun too. You could run your own company and design clothes whenever you want. Thinking about it, you are the heir of your father's company so you will run it one day but you should study well to be a business woman little bug
The little baby nodded but then her smile faded, and she looked down at her lap.
Emma: but... I don't wanna go to school. The kids there won't like me.
Marinette's heart sank hearing those words. She gently cupped Emma's cheek, turning her face so they were eye to eye.
Marinette: little bug, why would you say that? Everyone would love you. You are smart, funny, and the cutest little girl ever.
Emma: what if they don't? What if they are mean?
The bluenette kissed her forehead gently.
Marinette: I promise, they won't. You will make so many friends. You are too wonderful for them not to love you.
Emma thought about it for a moment. Then, out of nowhere, she gave Marinette a smile
Emma: do you love my papa, Mari?
The bluenette froze, her cheeks instantly turning red.
Marinette: w-what? Where did that come from?
Emma: you are always with him, and you smile a lot when he is around. Do you love him
Before Marinette could say anything, Adrien stepped into the room, having been watching from the doorway for a while now.
