"so umm Jeon jungkook you're here. Please take a seat" the dean said as soon as I entered his office. I saw a couple sitting there already.
The man was buffed up, absolutely fit and the lady next to him was pristine and put together except she was barely holding.
It clearly looked like she was not well. Her face was pale, and her eyes were swollen.
She looked exactly like someone I know but a little older. Someone who was dead.
She was Ju won's mom. I had seen her a few times in the neighborhood but she was a busy woman. She was a hotshot lawyer and her husband, ju won's father was high ranking Navy seal.
But what were they doing here looking for me.
They looked at me.
"Are you Jeon jungkook?" The woman asked and I nodded
"Jungkook, they are Ju won's parents. They are here to meet you, they believe their daughter has mentioned you in her note" he said and I was confused.
Ju won would occasionally smile at me passing by or something but without a reason she wouldn't even come near me. Our interaction was only because she was the best student and teachers wanted her to influence me, the delinquent.
Our total exchange of words would be a sentence for 3-4 words at Max. Why was I mentioned in her notes.
"Hello, I'm Lee su min, and this is my husband Kim Jaehyun. Our daughter had a habit of recording her thoughts, words etc and even after she is dead, we realised all her words were addressed to someone. Her suicide note is an envelope with your name on top. Her final letter was addressed to you with a small note. Requesting for only you to read them and tell about it to everyone. I'm not sure what it was, but I beg you to take what she left and read them and tell us know about it." She said and I was confused.
The woman held my hands and caressed them.
"I know it's a lot to ask, I'm not sure if you were her friend or a boyfriend but she begged for a final request, I can't bring myself to go against her on this" she said and I looked at her father and then back at her.
I cannot bring myself to ignore her either. I was never able to anyway.
"I can do that for you" I said and both of them sighed in relief.
Her father came closer with a paper bag. "We found these things next to her body. An envelope with your name on it a flashdrive and her latest diary. We have her past diaries as well, we can give you them if you ask for it anytime" her father said and I took the bag from him and nodded.
"Thank you! Thank you so much" they said and I nodded.
.
I put the bag on my study table and sat on my bed starring at it.
Why did she leave all of those for me? Not her close friends, not her parents, not anyone she regularly talks to but me.
Suddenly the door to my room opened and my mom stood there. "I heard the neighborhood kid, the Ju won girl died?" She said and I sighed before nodding.
She took a huge breath and came towards me taking a seat next to me. "What do you feel? She wasn't your friend but seeing a classmate one day and the other day hearing about her death is devastating." She said and sighed.
I smiled. "I was curious" I said and she looked confused. "About what?"
"Her" I Said and my mother smiled.
"You know, Ju won ate at our restaurant every Monday at 4pm when you would be at your guitar practice?" She asked and I was confused.
"But why? Why would she comes to this side of the neighborhood?"
I lived at a much less well off side of the neighborhood than her's. She lived in a mansion on the affluent side, I was raised by a single mother who ran mid size restaurant which catered to school students, drivers, office workers and anyone who wanted quick food.
"No" I answered.
"I think, she was as curious about you as she was. She was a nice kid, do take me with you to her memorial service" my mom said and I nodded.
She left and my eyes fell on the bag. I brought to the bed.
An A5 size diary, a pen drive and an envelope. On the envelope it was written.
'Jeon Jungkook'
(Please only let Jeon jungkook and no one else read it. Only Jeon jungkook may convey the contents of these 8 letters to the rest of the world and no one else for he will interpret it the best)
I laughed a little and tears formed in my eyes, dramatic till the very end.
I opened the envelope and with the thickness of the envelope I did feel there were a lot of papers inside but after I counted I realised.
There were only 7 letters. Weren't they supposed to be 8?
