- 100 years prior

"YAH!!!!" Jinae screamed through the bars at her mother, her eyes red as she seethed. "LET ME OUT!! ILL KILL YOU BOTH!!"

"You will stay locked up until you learn your lesson. Our family is NOT made of killers." Her mother spat, locking the door.

The vampires vision was completely overtaken by red. She banged on the cell bars that burned her skin, seeming unfazed by the pain.

It was a few hours later that she had somehow managed to escape. Grabbing a broken metal bar, she charged up the stairs.

-

Airi pulled Jinae into their bedroom, immediately hugging her. "I'm not sure what the fuck just happened, but I'm sorry. I'll meet up with Akari here soon and tell her we can't be friends if this behavior continues."

Jinae took a deep breath with a smile, guiding Airi to take a seat on the bed.

"Baby.. I'm not sure how she knew or found out.. but it's about time I tell you some things."

With a confused look, she waited patiently as the older held her hands. "You know.. how I've told you.. how I was a terrible person. Well, I worry that this may make you see me differently.."

Airi shook her head. "Nothing can. I know you aren't the same person you used to be."

"I killed my own mother, Airi. My grandmother as well."

A moment of silence filled the room as Jinae took a moment for it to register. The younger gave a sad smile. "I'm ready to hear the story, whenever you'd like to tell it."

-

The five year old screamed as glass was thrown across the room. Miyu pulled her along, covering her ears as they walked out the back door.

The eleven year old pulled her sister down the street, towards the convenience store nearby.

Miyu continued to distract the younger, buying her a small toy and a bag of chips to share with the only money she had.

As they made their way back, Airi had dropped her toy. Without having a hold of Miyus hand, she ran after the it.

"Airi no!!" Miyu screamed, her life flashing before her eyes as a car came out of nowhere. She leaped into the street, holding the girl as she prepared for impact.

A few moments later, she looked up in confusion. The car was stopped just two feet in front of them, a small yellow glimmer catching both sisters eyes.

-

Miyu sat up, wiping the sweat from her forehead. She scanned the room, letting out a sigh.

Whatever she was seeing.. was it her own memories?

She pulled herself out of bed and changed into clean clothes, slowly making her way downstairs for a glass of water.

After doing so, she frowned as she noticed the basement light on. Following it, she lightly knocked on the slightly ajar door.

"Miyu?" Byeol frowned, inspecting the girl. "You feeling okay? Your eye is purple."

She reached up to cover her normal eye. She shrugged. "I'm not in any pain.. I just woke up and saw your light.."

Byeol pulled her into the room, revealing Jinae as well. She took a seat next to the girl, tiredly leaning back against the wall.

Jinae reached up to Miyus forehead. "You are warm."

"I'll be fine, I promise. What are you guys doing awake?"

Byeol worriedly looked over to the vampire, encouraging her to tell the truth.

"Miyu-ssi.. Akari.. she's been acting really strange."

  Miyu frowned. "Strange how?"

"She asked about my mother.. that I had killed.. a hundred years ago. The anniversary is actually today.." she looked down in shame, worried about the older sisters reaction.

  "Anything else she has said?"

Jinae nodded. "She confronted me at the store. Somehow.. she knows I'm a vampire. She threatened to tell Airi. Of course that's not an issue but.."

"It's still unsettling. Kimiko gave her suspicion a rest so I don't understand what Akaris problem with you is. She has always been the jealous type with Airis other friends."

Byeol leaned against the counter. "Do you think she likes Airi?"

Jinae waited for her answer with nervous eyes. Miyu nodded. "It's very possible. Akari also dates women. She's always been in Airis business even when it wasn't needed."
