It had been a couple of days since Yukari began to stay at the safe house. After getting so much information exposed to her in the last 78 hours, she would have been lying if she didn't feel like she was in a dream.Bangchan took a seat on the couch with the others, reading what he had discovered. "Most members of the group went by aliases or code names. Some of the names I found are of course the two who led, Siwoo and Asumi, as well as the names Hiso, Songmi, Kumi, Rayne, and Taeho. Howev-"
"Wait. I have heard the name Kumi before. Is that an alias?" Byeol moved closer to his notes.
He nodded. "For sure. In fact, she was the one I could dig up the least about."
Byeol looked directly towards the sisters and Seungmin. "I think that is our lead then. I am almost one-hundred-percent sure that I have heard that name come out of Asumis mouth."
"Maybe that is the friend that brought our mother into the group?" Airi suggested, getting some nods around the room.
--- Flashback
Wiping the sweat from her forehead, Byeol was frustrated with something she was working on. With a knock pulling her attention away, she took a few breaths to calm herself before allowing the people in.
Byeol bowed to the stranger her friend entered the room with. "Asumi, this is Byeol. Byeol, this is Asumi."
The fairy looked between the two women, noticing the same gold chain and star pendant. Her friend spoke once more. "Asumi is the wife and woman of 'The Stars of Light'."
Asumi walked forward, grabbing both of Byeols hands. "My husband, my friend Kumi and I hope to fall back on the people we have protected for years. Someone is after me and my soon to be family of three." She held her stomach with a sad gaze down. "The necklaces are a hope that my baby knows who they can trust."
Byeol nodded, feeling the soothing energy the woman had. "How can I help?"
---
A knock at the Ryu residence distracted her from her daily yoga. Waiting for her butler to inform her of who is at the door, she got impatient and walked downstairs.
A woman who seemed to be of the same age greeted Ms Ryu with a bow. She returned one, yet didn't try to hide her confusion. "And who might you be?"
She softly smiled, taking the hunter back quite a few years with her tone alone. "I go by Kumi, but perhaps you know me as Ahmya. It is nice to meet you again after all this time." She reached for the necklace, showing off the glowing pendant.
"I am sincerely sorry for your loss." She once again deeply bowed. The mother took a deep breath, forcing a smile.
"You look just like the girls.. Asumi too. I didn't see the resemblance... until now." She lightly chuckled. Getting a confirming nod, Ahmya spoke once more. "Do.. you know where my remaining family is?"
Byeol could only stare at the woman with confusion as her heart raced. Nevertheless, the necklace was fully on show.
"My name is Kumi. I was told by Ms Ryu that Asumis girls were here."
Nodding, Byeol moved to the side and announced as loud as she could to the others in the house.
Slowly one by one, the house mates arrived and took a seat on the couch. Jisung and Felix.. followed by Jinae, then Airi and Yukari.. last being Seungmin and Miyu. Having the woman stand behind the wall, everyone saw Kumi at the same time.
She slowly lowered to the floor, bowing so deep her face was inches from the hard wood. Fighting the tears from seeing her family again, she couldn't even look them in the eyes. "In the Stars of Light, I was the co-ceo in case anything happened to Asumi and Siwoo. I went by Kumi, but my name is Ahmya."
With her knees still on the floor, she sat back up with her eyes pointed down.
"Siwoo and Asumi were the sweetest, most kind people you could ever meet in the world. They used their strength to save so so many families.. I couldn't even keep count honestly. One day.. a demon came across our group and cut half our number in half. He stole wings, fangs, and other body parts of the group members.."
"Knowing they had to do something about it.. Siwoo ordered a fake disbandment of the group to go undercover. After Siwoo protected a family of fairies.. the demon found Siwoos purple eyes interesting. It was back and forth between the men for almost ten years, when Siwoo and his wife found out they were having a baby. Managing to keep the baby a secret for almost six years.. they found out about baby number two. Somehow, news about the pregnancy got out to the public and a rumor turned it into twins."
"Asumi and Siwoo planned a fake 'run away' for Asumi saying she disappeared before having the twins. Rushing to the cottage to save her one day, he lost the long battle with the demon as Asumi just managed to get away with you girls in time. That is when she sent out the warning signal. It was answered, so I figured if I still went for it I could have just added to the danger."
"And.. how do you know this information?" Miyu hesitantly spoke, knowing everything matched up to her dream. The woman took a deep breath as tears immediately pooled from her eyes.
"Did you know.. when a fairy dies.. t-they can send all of their memories to someone?" She sniffled, thanking Gyeonhui for the tissue.
"I am s-sorry for not saving my own sister, Miyu, Airi. It haunts me everyday." She confessed.
The whole room watched as Miyu stood and walked over, crouching on the floor in front of Ahmya. She wrapped her arms around her aunt, burying her own face in her shoulder. "Thank you f-for coming b-back."
