I stand there looking from the peephole at where he once stood for few seconds, my mind is still trying to catch up with what just happened. when I come to my senses, my mind repeats my mother's words how she wanted me to stay away from him.

He came. He came to meet me just because he didn't want me to assume the worst.

I don't want to think about it right now, I need to be in the moment and forget about what people have been telling to me about him, he could've just left today and ignored me but he came here, he's trying to be honest with me.

I tell myself these things, trying to convince myself that I'm not doing anything wrong. But my mom’s voice still echoes in my head, and the possibility of me being used is still there.

I shake myself out of my thoughts and I push aside the doubts that I have, I want to believe this, I want to believe that he's being honest with me besides the stuff he doesn't want me to know.

I walk into the kitchen, to see my mom near the stove "You want to tell me why was Draco here?" My mom asks me as I bite the inside of my cheek.

"Uh—he was just checking up on me," I say leaning onto the kitchen counter.

"Checking up on you, huh" she says, her tone is neutral but the doubt in her eyes says it all, she can tell that I'm not telling her the whole truth.

"You remember what I told you this morning right? I don't want you to have any involvement with a Malfoy" she says firmly before she turned around and looks at me

It's a bad idea to lie right now, my mother is a master of detection like she's literally asking me to be honest.

"Yes, mum" I say in a soft voice as I glance away from her look.

"I want you to make a promise, promise me that you won't see him again, this is the last time he steps a foot in this household" she continues "is that clear?"

I widened my eyes "Can you just tell me what is going on? Why are people hiding stuff?"

"It's complicated." she replies simply but firmly, "you are just too young to understand, all you need to be aware of is that Draco is not to be trusted. And it's for your own good that you don't see him again."

"But things are too complicated right now" Malfoy's exact words repeated in my head as I hear my mother say that.

"What is going on" I ask again.

My mother narrows her eyes at me for a few seconds, she is probably debating if she should tell me or not, I can tell the answer is no, but I'm still hopeful she might change her mind.

"You have no need to know" she replies, her answer is sharp and firm, she will not be changing her mind anytime soon, there's no point in arguing more.

"No, I do need to know. What is it?" I ask again.

"It doesn't concern you, it's concerned with Harry Potter, I'm guessing you might know him and his two other friends?" She says

"Yeah I do? Everyone knows who he is," I reply with a shrug

she pauses, it's obvious she's thinking whether she should tell me or not, her body language and the way she is carrying this conversation tells me that this conversation might not end the way I want it, I cross my arms as I look at her "Mum, please just tell me"
