"Can you make the room a little darker?" I wipe the fake blood off my abdomen as we stand in the room, editing another video.
"Yeah." Riley starts typing.
"Make her scream echo more." Evan crosses his arms.
"Was just thinking that." McKenna types and I wipe the fake blood off my jaw and neck.
"Okay, what do we think?" Riley questions.
I watch myself get fake stabbed, then screaming. "Break my arm." I keep my eyes on the screen and after a few minutes, Riley replays the whole video. I watch Bozer fake stab me and then see the edited part where he breaks my arm, making me scream at the top of my lungs.
"Jesus." Jack says.
"I'll take that as send it." Riley quirks up.
"Yep." I look at Matty and she nods.
"What are you gonna say?" Bozer asks.
"We already got that covered." Riley types Long Live David Clarke on the screen and sends the video.
I wipe my neck again. "Thanks for fake stabbing me."
"Anytime." Bozer tells me. "Wait, that came out wrong. I meant-"
"I know what you mean, don't worry."
"You okay, though?" He places his hand on my arm.
"Not even a scratch, Wilt." I look down at my abdomen. "Good work on prosthetics."
"And they still haven't contacted you?" Jack crosses his arms.
"They will. Cause as each week goes by, the more blood, and body parts, Sienna looses."
"Cause they're gonna be asking us to bring you in. That's what Edith is for. She's gonna crack the Initiative's deep encryption and tell you where the text is coming from, and that's gonna lead you to Hoffman and Mathis."
"Precisely."
"And this is your first time making a fake kidnapping video?"
McKenna scoffs. "Hell no."
"Alright, we're good." I throw the rag into the garbage pail.
"Okay." Matty turns to the screen. "Meet Senato Todd Steckler from Ohio. Two years ago, one of his aides wiped his office computer and brought it to a recycling center. But instead of it being recycled, it was illegally shipped overseas to Ghana."
"Why would somebody's old computer be sent all the way to Ghana?" Jack wonders and I place my hat on my head.
"Because it's more expensive..." Mac mocks his deep voice. "To recycle electronic waste here than to export it to a developing country where it gets dumped in a landfill and forgotten."
