"I'm not in a wheelchair." I scoff as Riley helps me down the stairs.
"You almost were." Riley keeps me steady.
"Riley, I was released two weeks ago. It barely even hurts."
"But not completely, so I hear."
"Don't you have a boyfriend to, I don't know, date?"
"He's not important right now. You are. Always. Forever."
"Hey, there she is." Jack gets up with Mac.
"You have a sickness, you know that?" I turn back to Riley. "All of you."
"Missed you too. C'mere, c'mere." He gently pulls me into him and places his hand on the back of my head as I hug him back.
"Jack." I pull away.
"Yeah?"
"You saw me yesterday. And the all the days before that. I'd like one day without having to see your face. You think you can do that for me?"
"Just today, though."
"That's all I ask. Where you two going?" I fix Mac's tie.
"Our Manniversary." Jack smiles and I share an amused look with Riley.
"Godspeed." I hug Mac.
"Thank you." Mac scoffs, gently hugging me back.
"Don't even say it."
"Say what?"
"You know what." I pull away. "You don't need to babysit me. It's been two weeks. I'm fine."
"I know. But it's not babysitting. It's just spending time with-"
"With Jack. Exactly. You two have fun. And make sure to film him blacked out drunk." I punch his chest and turn. I make my way to the kitchen and Riley wraps my arm back around her neck. "You're still milking this?"
"Just until Friday." Riley gently leads me into the kitchen.
"Fine." I chuckle. "You win. Ah." I stop.
"Lina! You okay? What's wrong?" She panics.
"Oh, nothing. Just wanted to see how committed you really are to home nurse role."
"You're a bitch for that." She shakes her head.
"You're just gullible."
"Son of a bitch, you know that?" She leads me again and I smirk.
