Skyfall: Adele
I look at that text from my mom as I walk around Mexico City. I now shut off my phone and get to the spot where she said she would meet me. I look around and slip my phone in my back pocket. My phone then goes off right after and I take it out.
I see an unknown number on the screen and I look up. I then freeze up as I see Mac and the others, except for Bozer and Nolan, around the area, supposedly acting undercover for something. I thickly swallow, realizing the text wasn't from my mother.
"Hello?" I now answer the call.
"Don't be shy, Amanda." Murdoc comes through the speaker and I freeze.
"Amanda?" Desi heads over. "Hey."
"Admit it. Admit...you missed me. Cooperate and everyone else gets to keep walking around."
"Hey." I tightly hug Desi and close my eyes. "I got a text from my mom after all this time. She said she was here. I'm waiting for her."
"Really? That's great." Desi grins. "We're here for a Codex lead. Russ found a bunker."
"I'll be back as soon as I can, okay? Just don't tell the others I'm here. My mom, she..."
"I know. Evan told me. But I'm glad she's doing better. I'm glad she's back."
"Yeah, me too. I'll be back soon. She probably got lost." I grip her shoulder before turning.
"Still got the pathological lying part down. Bravo, Clarke." Murdoc tells me.
"Phoenix locked you up."
"Clearly not well enough. Now pay attention. I want you to imagine yourself like the avatar in a video game, only doing precisely what the player controlling you demands. Hang up or tell anybody else that this is happening and thousands of innocent people...die."
"Obviously." I keep walking.
"Good choice, Clarke."
"What people?" I look around.
"Well, you're gonna have to earn that information."
"Hey." Mac says and I jump as he places his hand on my shoulder.
"H-Hi." I turn to him. "What's up?"
"I overheard you tell Desi that you're here because your mom contacted you. You need help finding her?"
"Careful, Amanda. Their lives are in your hands, again, so...so you wanna play?" Murdoc chuckles.
"No, I'm fine. I'm on the phone with her right now. I'm sending her my location. I'll link up with you and the others as soon as I can." I nod and turn, now continuing to walk.
