Chapter 38

FIVE DAYS LATER
JAYLEEs POV:

Today I was flying out with Jeremiah to Spain, I was staying for the day and going to visit the midwife Alex as she is way nicer than the other lady. We had just got on the plane in the first class seats Jude had brought for us, I would normally feel bad for using his money but he broke me, twice.

"What you most excited to do in Spain JJ?" I asked him and he thought for a second,
"To see everyone that I miss!" He exclaimed excitedly making my heart break, it really wasn't fair on him, he was just getting settled with us both living together and Spain just for us to mess it up for him again. "That's nice, who do you miss the most?" I asked,
"Hmmm daddy and Nanny and my friends at nursery, and my uncles, and my bedroom and everyone else!" He replied making me laugh a little, "you're going to be a busy boy in Spain, maybe you should go to bed so you're not tired" I said making him frown and shake his head.

I let out a sigh as he went to do some colouring before he got bored and started jumping around making his two dinosaurs fight, "Jeremiah stop that please" I said taking out my AirPod but he just didn't listen and kept roaring making a few people look over unimpressed. "JJ!" I said a bit louder holding his hands, "heyyy" he whined.
"Your being to loud baby, people around us are not to happy" I said and just shrugged slipping his hands out my grip. "Jeremiah stop it now" I said angrily taking the dinosaurs off him, "sit down, and watch a movie or something" I said to him but he just frowned and started hitting me trying to get the dinosaurs back.

I quickly dropped them in the bag before grabbing his hands, "Jeremiah no hitting, calm down" I said. "No!" he shouted back making me sigh, "hey are you guys alright?" The flight attendant asked coming up to us. "I'm so sorry" I said and she shook her head, "don't be silly it happens, but I do know a way to help you" she said with a smile on her face. "When the children on the flight are well behaved they get ice cream" she said and I smiled as Jeremiah turnt around to listen. "Did you hear that JJ?" I asked and he nodded as tears rolled down his cheek, "do you like ice cream?" The flight attendant asked and he nodded, "it's his favourite" I smiled and so did she.

"If you take a seat and be good for your mummy, I think I could get you some" she smiled and Jeremiah nodded sitting down next to m and she walked off. "Good boy" I smiled giving him a hug as he rested his head on me.

We pulled into Jude's driveway and got out the car when the door opened and Jude appeared making Jeremiah squeal and sprint down the driveway. "Thank you" I smiled to the driver and nodded before driving off, I walked down the drive where Jude was waiting holding Jeremiah.
"Hi" he said with a guilty smile going for a hug wich I didn't expect, "hey Jude" I smiled back before he moved out the way of the door to let us in.

"JAYLEE!" I suddenly heard a scream and some running before Denise appeared at the top of the stairs and ran down to give me a hug, "hey Denise" I laughed.
"I missed you, how have to been?" She asked,
"Yeah, I've been alright" I replied looking at Jude as he still looked at me guiltily. Denise then said hi to Jeremiah before grabbing my hand, "come take a seat, you must be exhausted" she said and I nodded as we walked through to the living room.

"How was your flight?" Denise asked when we sat down, "it was alright, Jeremiah did have a tantrum but thankfully the flight attendant was really good with him" I smiled and she nodded,
"Sorry" Jude then said and I looked at him confused and then decided to just shake it off.
"I've got my appointment in an hour" I smiled and Denise clapped her hand excitedly, "I can't wait to see how big she has got!" She exclaimed and Jude nodded. "Are you going by yourself?" Denise then asked and I nodded, "I was going to bring Jeremiah but it's not fair he's already been cooped up in the plane for hours" I replied.

"Well Jude can go with you, I bet your exhausted as it is and I would hate to send you in there alone" Denise said and I sighed,
"It's alright, I'm fine by myself" I smiled and she shook her head, "I insist, Jude drives my crazy when he doesn't have training, so it would be good for him to lose some energy" she said and I slowly nodded before looking at Jude who was looking at the floor.

We spent the rest of the hour talking and it was soon time for me to leave, "it's time for my appointment" I said to no one in particular and walked out the room to get ready when I heard Jude and Denise's conversation. "Mum I'm not going" Jude said,
"Go with her Jude, it's your baby and you guys can't be acting like this for Jeremiah's sake" she said making me sigh as it was true. Jeremiah was slightly older now and he's begging to become more aware of things like this.

I continued putting on my shoes when Jude walked into the hall, "you ready?" He asked and I nodded, walking out to the car not saying anything. Jude got in the car too and we started driving to the doctors, "Apart from Jeremiah's tantrum, how was the flight?" Jude asked breaking the silence.

"It was okay, the first class was nice" I replied smiling at him a little and he nodded, "how is Jeremiah finding me being in Spain, I haven't got the chance to speak to you" Jude then said knowing there was no hang up option on this conversation. "He's struggling to understand it all, he misses everyone a lot" I replied truthfully,
"Sorry" Jude said again making me cover my hand in my face.
"Stop doing that Jude" I said,
"Doing what?" He asked,
"You know what"

"Sorry, I can't help but feel guilty, i would do anything-" he began and I cut him,
"Jude don't, what's done is done, we were never
Meant to be" I said and he sighed before going silent.

We arrived at the doctors and walked in before being called straight away, "hey Jaylee, hey Jude it's lovely to see you guys again" midwife Alex smiled, "it's nice to see you too" I replied feeling a lot more relaxed with her then that other lady.

Alex asked a few questions before getting on with the scan, the baby was growing each day and I don't think I will never get over the feeling of it, I looked over to Jude and he was smiling to but there was so much sadness in his eyes. I felt bad, but I knew I shouldn't. I went back to looking at the screen before Alex put the ultrasound stick down, "she's grown a lot, and she's all healthy" She smiled and so did we.

We finished off our appointment and got a few pictures and then went home, it was silent but not as awkward this time as we both sat listing to the music. We arrived home and Jeremiah ran to the door and Jude picked him up, "hey JJ, do you want to see your little sister?" Jude asked and he nodded. We walked through to the living room where Denise was sat and she gathered round us too. We showed them the pictures and then I found Jeremiah's old ultrasound pictures to show him what he looked like when he was little.
