Chapter 42

TWO DAYS LATER
JAYLEES POV

Today my dad and Austin where coming to visit us all, I had stayed at Jude's these last few days and was planing to go back tomorrow. I woke up to an empty bed where Jeremiah previously was but then heard his and Jude's voice downstairs so I didn't need to worry.

I check the time and saw it was 10am so I got up and straight away got dressed, I then headed downstairs and saw everyone. "Good morning guys" I smiled coming into the kitchen,
"Good morning Jaylee, I was just about to wake you, food is ready if you're up to it" Denise smiled.
"Oh yes please, I'm starving!" I exclaimed taking a seat next to Jude and Jeremiah.

"So Jaylee me and Denise where thinking that you moved in with either us or Jude" Mark said looking at Denise for support, "I know we shouldn't be planning stuff for you but we just thought as it's the last two months it would be good if you were always near someone just in case" Denise finished as I thought for a second.

"Don't worry Jay, you don't need to answer right now" Jude said saving me and I smiled at him,
"How is your dad holding up Jay?" Denise then asked me, "err, he's very distant, I know he's hurting a lot but he tries not to show it" I replied and she nodded, "it's good he's coming today then" Mark said.
"Yeah, I'm just scared to see him" I replied as Jude smiled at me sympathetically.

"Austin said he's leaving now" Jobe then said looking up from his phone and we all nodded,
"Tell him we'll meet then straight at the restaurant" Mark said and Jobe nodded.

After food we all just rested in the sofa as I thought about the moving situation, I thought about going to live with my brother and Vanessa but that's far from Jude and that wouldn't really be fair on him or Jeremiah. I didn't want to over stay my welcome at this house but I was supposed to be not talking to Jude. I knew that I had to pick one and I decided on Jude as we can set up the baby room and all that ready there, "Jude" I said.
"Hmm?" He replied looking up from his phone,
"Can I stay with you?" I asked and he looked at me Suprised. "You'd want to?" He asked and I nodded hopefully, "yeah of course you can, thank you Jay" he said I nodded as I knew he wanted to be close to his son and baby daughter.

We arrived at the restaurant and walked in, I was nervous to see my dad, I didn't know what state he would be in. "You okay?" Jude asked placing a hand in my lower back, "yeah" I replied quietly not really comprehending what he said.
We walked in and the waiter took us to our table, I saw Austin and Vanessa first before my dad came into sight, his hair was much longer and he had a beard, he looked tired, both mentally and physically. I felt so many emotions, as could sense Jude looking at me, I walked over to the seats trying to act normal. Everyone stood up and hugged each other and I eventually got to my dad, "hey dad" I smiled softly a small hint of alcohol hitting me when I gave him a hug.

"Hey Jaylee, your looking well" he smiled hugging me back, "thank you dad" I replied not knowing weather I should tell him the same thing to, "come on JJ say hi to grandad" Jude said picking him up as Jeremiah had a reluctant look in his face and my dad saw it. "Hello Jeremiah, you've grown so much!" My dad exclaimed and he smiled proudly as they high-fived each other and then Jude shook my dad's hand.

We all sat down I was next to Vanessa and Jeremiah, I felt someone touch my back and I looked over to Jude, "your okay?" He mouthed and I nodded. "What do you want to eat JJ?" I then asked looking at his kids menu, "erm, nuggets!" He exclaimed and I laughed.
"Okay, do you want apple juice with that?" I said and he nodded, I then decided to have a burger as I was really craving it.

The food was good but halfway through the meal my dad order his second beer I looked at Austin and he gave me a knowing look. I carried on eating and just as we were finishing of my dad said, "Jaylee, catch the waiter if you can, I want another beer."
"Dad, I think you've had enough now" Austin said, "It's fine, I don't need you telling me what to do" my dad snapped back.
"Please dad, not here" Austin then said, I looked around the table and everyone had the exact same worried look.

"I'm not starting anything, I just want a drink" my dad then groaned, "we've got some tap water is you would like" Jobe suggested and we all nodded, my dad looked mad and opened his mouth to talk but Austin cut him, "come outside dad" he said standing up and my dad raised his eyebrows. "Dad go, please" I said, he looked at me starting blankly for a second before standing up and following Austin outside.

"You okay Jay?" Jude asked me and I nodded as Vanessa gave me a hug, "he's needs help, but I don't think he will accept it" I then said and Mark nodded sympathetically. "I'll talk to him at some point" he said and I smiled great fully, as the waiter came over. "Would you guys like any dessert?" She asked,
"Ice cream!" Jeremiah exclaimed making the waitress giggle. "What kind of ice cream would you like?" She asked sweetly,
"Chocolate!" Jeremiah replied.

"What do you say JJ?" Jude asked,
"Pleaseeee" Jeremiah said looking at the Waiter and she smiled, "coming right up, would anyone else like anything?"
"Yeah, please could I have chocolate ice cream too" I said smiling and then everyone else ordered their dessert.

Austin soon walked in without my dad, "where's dad?" I asked confused,
"Outside sat on a bench" he replied,
"Is he alright?" Jobe asked,
"He will be, he needs time to cool off and sober up" Austin replied and we all nodded.

We finished off our food and Jude kindly paid before we all walked to the car park, "well it was lovely to see you guys" Denise smiled to Austin and Vanessa. "Yeah I really enjoyed it thank you, sorry about my dad" Austin said,
"Don't apologise, we understand" Mark then said looking over to see my dad leaning on Austin's car looking down to the floor. We hugged everyone goodbye and then got in our cars home.

I needed something to move the story along and I was so bored writing this so it might not even make sense.
