Chapter 39

THE NEXT DAY
Jaylee's pov:

I woke up at 5am to get ready for my flight, I had to leave the house in an hour so I got in the shower and made sure I had everything before sitting down to eat some breakfast.

I was about to book a taxi to take me to the airport when Jude walked into the room, "good morning" he said with a small smile.
"Good morning, you're up early" I said and he nodded, "i wanted to make sure you are okay and get on the plane smoothly" he said and I sighed.
"What time do you need to leave? I'll take you" Jude hen said realising I wasn't going to say anything. "It's fine Jude, I'll order a taxi" I said and he shook his head, "we both know I'm not going to let you do that, what time do you need to leave?" He asked again.

"6, thanks" I replied and he nodded before walking out the room leaving me sat there eating my toast, I thought back to yesterday and how awkward it must of been for midwife Alex and me and Jude were barley talking. I finished all my food, got my bags ready and then went upstairs to Jeremiah. I opened the door and his eyes slowly opened, "morning mummy" he said in a sleepy voice sitting up and rubbing his eyes.
"Good morning my baby, did you sleep well?" I asked and he nodded.

I went and took a seat next to him and he gave me a hug, "mummy has to go soon" I said and he looked at me confused. "Where?" He asked and I sighed, "I told you about this yesterday, I'm going back home in England baby" I replied.
"Why?" He asked sadly,
"As you know me and daddy don't live together, as we don't get along so I'm going to go back to our England house" I said trying to phrase it in a way a 3 year old would understand. "But you use to live here!" He complained,
"I know but, if I stayed there would be a lot of arguing and no one likes that" I replied and he frowned. "But you get to spend time with daddy and Nana and I will call you every single day" I said but it didn't help as he was crying.

Just then the door opened and Jude walked in,
"Hey buddy, what's up" Jude asked taking a seat next to us, "I don't want mummy to leave!" He cried and Jude sighed. "I know you don't baby but, it's for the better and your going to have such a good time in Spain with me, you can see all your friends" Jude said and he shook his head,
"Mummy can stay to when we do that!" He replied making a few tears run down my cheeks.
"It wouldn't work like that JJ, there would be a lot of arguing and you would probably stay home more" Jude said and I nodded.

"Well I don't care!" He shouted and me and Jude both looked at each other no knowing what to do,
"Jeremiah, don't cry" Denise then said walking in the room and taking him off me. "We are going to have such a good time in Spain, there so much I want to show you, how about we go and see the sunrise?" Denise said smiling at both me and Jude. Jeremiah didn't say anything so we all knew he really wanted to go but didn't want to leave me, "Jeremiah isn't that cool, you love the sunrise!" I smiled and he just shrugged.

"Come on JJ, you don't want to miss out just because you're upset" Denise said and we both nodded, "come one let's go" Denise then said and he nodded. I mouthed a thank you to Denise and she nodded before walking out the room, "that was tough" I said to Jude whilst wiping and he nodded, "are you okay? I can book you a later flight or something" he the offered.
"It's okay, I'm just as bad as Jeremiah really, it would unsettle him even more if I was still here" I said. "Yeah, I get that, you ready to go?" Jude asked checking the time on his phone and I nodded.

I went down stairs and grabbed my bags before heading out to the car, were I realised perhaps I was talking to Jude to much and it would only make it more difficult for the both of us. we both got in the car and neither of us said a word making the drive to the airport really awkward.

"Not long now" Jude said and I didn't quite process it,
"Huh?" I asked.
"For the baby, not long left" he said and I nodded, "I can't wait to meet her" I said rubbing my belly as Jude smiled.

We then arrived at the airport and we both go out the car, Jude carried my bags for me as far as he could before he couldn't come any further, "well, have a safe flight" Jude said.
"Thank you, stay safe and take care of Jeremiah" I replied giving him a side hug, "you know I will Jay, text me when you land" Jude and I nodded.

"Thanks for letting me stay, thank your mum too" I said and Jude nodded.
"See you soon" Jude smiled,
"Yeah see you" I replied walking off through the airport.

I arrived in England again and saw a text from my brother saying he's at the airport waiting for me, I got my bags and went through security rather quick and then headed to the exit.

"Austin!" I exclaimed when I saw my brother on the phone, he looked up and smiled before giving me a hug. "Hey sis, how did it go?" Austin asked,
"It was good thanks, the baby is all healthy" I replied and he nodded, "that's good, how did Jeremiah find the whole thing?" Austin then asked, "not good at all, he was in bits" I said beging to feel guilty again and Austin could obviously see that as he changed the subject.

"It's okay, I'm sure he understood, let me take your bags" he said changing the conversation and I smiled, "thank you" I said handing him my bag.
We walked to the car and I opened the door to get in to see Jobe sat in the back, "why am I not surprised" I said as they both laughed.
"We're a packaged deal" Austin said proudly and Jobe nodded, "I'm sure Austin already asked but how was it with Jude?" Jobe asked.

"I had asked that actually because I'm respectful" Austin said and Jobe rolled his eyes, "there no point beating around the bush asking how was Spain and that, like jsut get to the point" Jobe said making us both laugh and shake our heads.
"Well it's different, I didn't speak to him much to be honest, it's complicated and it's better that way" I replied,
"As I say, love is a game" Jobe shrugged.
"Since when have you ever said that?" Austin asked confused, "since today, I was listen to Adele this morning and I thought the song was very much relatable for you Jay" Jobe said.
"So you don't say it, Adele did and thanks?" I said as both the boys laughed. "Im so done with you Jobe, let's just go home" Austin said starting the car.
