Maybe even today he is not going to come. —Jenna.

I sighed and turned off the screen of my phone. I sat comfortably in the car seat, peeked outside through the window and tried not to think about him, but I knew that nothing like this was going to happen. I couldn’t stop thinking about him, not at all after that day.

I didn’t know what happened to him that day.

When I opened my eyes, soft light fell into the room through the closed blinds. I was alone in the immense bed, which I shared with my husband last night. Thinking of last night made me sweat. I didn’t know if taking him to my room had been a good decision—if I should have left him there—but I took him here, and dwelling on it won’t change anything.

But where was he now?

Groggily, I skimmed around the room as if he might be there, but there was no one in the big room except me. I removed the silk sheet from my body and checked my digital watch. It wasn’t even nine o’clock in the morning, and looking at the sunlight filtering through the curtains, I murmured, “Where did you go so early in the morning?”

My heart sank into my stomach thinking about him. I rose out of bed, slipped into my
slippers, I headed towards the bathroom, brushed my teeth and washed my face before leaving my room.

Liam greeted me and I smiled at him and proceeded downstairs with him. All the servants downstairs were busy with their work as usual, and Jenna was also there, talking to some servants near the dining table.

I let go of Liam’s hand and moved toward Jenna. Seeing me coming there, the servants bowed to me and went away, leaving me and Jenna there alone. “Good morning, my Bella—” She uttered lovingly and extended her hands toward me.

I offered her a small smile and placed my hands on hers.  “Good morning, Jenna.”

“Your breakfast is ready, sit down, and I will serve you,” she declared.

I nodded because I couldn’t resist even if I wanted to. I sat on the head chair and removed my slippers as I brought my knees to my chest, folding myself into a small ball to preserve heat. Jenna went to the kitchen to bring me breakfast, and I tried to find him by scrutinizing every corner of the mansion.

Jenna popped into the hall dining again after a few minutes with a tray. “Here’s your avocado toast with peanut butter smoothie for your breakfast, enjoy!” she said with a grin.

I smiled and was about to ask her something about him when the clicking sound of shoes echoed in the quiet mansion. I looked back, and he was coming down the stairs, perfectly dressed in his grey suit, he looked as captivating as last night, if the other night he looked angelic with his unruly hair, now he looked—threatening, intense…alluring.
