The wind gusted through my hair as I gripped the steering wheel tightly, my knuckles turning white. My heart thundered in my chest, a thrill of adrenaline surging through my veins. I glanced in the rearview mirror, verifying that no one was following me or able to prevent me from completing what I wanted to do.
The road stretched off into the distance like a long, silver ribbon. I was behind the wheel of my husband’s car, his favourite, the one Liam had cautioned me not to touch, stating that his chief had killed anyone who had dared to touch it.
I accelerated my car as I could see the towering Kim Industries buildings and In a few seconds, my car was positioned close to Kim Industry’s main door. I paused, and my gaze lingered on the imposing structure before me. It was as if the buildings itself was alive, breathing a slow, steady rhythm of power and prestige.
The gate leading inside the industry was ajar, but there were guards stationed to ensure security. They carried themselves with an air of authority as if they were born to protect and serve the very essence of the buildings. I smirked as I considered the destruction I was going to cause. Hopefully, I would enter inside before they realised what had hit them.
My fingers tightened on the wheel as I accelerated my car’s speed and my car’s engine roared like a ferocious beast and I closed in on the target. The guards at the gate barely had time to register my presence before I was past them, my car swerving expertly through the maze of concrete and steel. My chest pounded with a thundering heartbeat and the air was thick with anticipation, a tangible energy that seemed to hum against my skin. I knew exactly where I was going and what needed to be done when I arrived.
As I sped deeper into the industrial complex, the buildings grew larger and more imposing, looming over me like sentinels of a bygone era. The main building loomed before me, its facade lit up by spotlights, casting eerie shadows across the asphalt. It was a fortress, designed to withstand anything short of a nuclear blast.
I pulled to a stop directly in front of his office gate and the next instant, his guards were positioned around my car, their weapons aimed. Shaking my head, I reached for my purse and the paper bag, and I opened the car door with confidence. When they noticed me, all the guards who had their weapons aimed at my car lowered them and bowed their heads in front of me.
“Hey, handsome—” I said, gesturing to a guard stationed close to my car.
“Me?” With a self-deprecating gesture, he queried, seemingly unable to accept that I had called for him.
“Yeah. You, come here.” I gestured for him to approach with my middle and index fingers while flashing him my adorable smile.
“Yes, Gospozha?” he inquired, approaching me, and I grabbed the revolver out of his grasp and gave him my purse.
