In the comfort of his four walls, Chan listened to the sounds of the keys as he typed the last lines of the text he was supposed to send to his boss. Scanning everything he had written with his eyes, he added a few more corrections and then, deciding that everything was in order, sent his work. Closing the laptop immediately after receiving the message that the email has been sent.
It was the last thing he had to do for today, that's why he finally got up from the chair where he had been sitting for the last few hours and moved towards the kitchen, stretching along the way to be able to move his existing bones. Once at his destination, Chan prepared a cup of coffee and something to eat. Then, with this in his hands, he returned to the living room, where, wanting to occupy his time, he turned on a TV series.
However, not even an hour had passed when the scenes playing in front of him began to bore him, and having nothing to do with his hands because the cup and plate he was holding were now empty on the table, the more bored he felt. Knowing that there was no point in continuing to stare at the screen, he turned off the TV. As a result, there was complete silence in the room and the entire apartment, which Chan had not been a fan of for some time.
Thinking about this, he looked down at the carpet where his son usually played and a soft sigh came out of his mouth, because he missed his son and all the noise he made while playing. The silence might have been pleasant at first, but only at first, because then it overwhelmed him.
Rising to his feet, he walked to his son's room, where he stopped at the threshold for a moment before finally entering and sitting on the bed, looking around the room with a slight smile.
His eyes slowly landed on every thing in the room, including the teddy bears, which, even though his son didn't like keeping order, were always carefully arranged because, as Jisung once told him, he didn't want them to be sad, so he always placed them in such a way that they were comfortable. It was still endearing to the man as he continued to scan the room. Looking at the posters on the wall mixed with pictures that Changbin probably hung to show the boy how good they were.
Chan felt a little moved when he saw that he was in most of these drawings, and that's not what the arrows pointing to the stick figure, signed "Dad", would indicate. With a quiet sigh, he moved on, regretting that he hadn't paid attention to them when Jisung came to him to show them to him. That he had failed his son had been clear to him for a long time, but all the things in the boy's room only made him realize it even more.
Looking back, he couldn't even remember the last time he spent time with Jisung, just the two of them. Even though there were many opportunities for this and the 4-year-old asked him for it more than once, he couldn't find time for it, even to arrange some stupid blocks.
-I'm such an idiot
Chan hid his face in his hands, looking through his fingers at the dresser, which he approached after a while, opening the bottom drawer to be able to see whole rows of blocks that he and Jisung would definitely arrange as soon as he picked him up from Changbin.
And standing here, I promise myself that it will happen soon.
He had enough time alone to understand how much stupidity he said during that argument with Changbin. This week had shown him more than enough that Jisung coming into his life was the best thing that had ever happened to him.
With this thought in mind, he closed the drawer and then his gaze wandered to the CD that was lying on the dresser. It was on this recording that the group's performance was recorded, which led to an argument between him and his friend, and this is where he will begin his atonement.
That's why he took the disc in his hands and went with it to the living room, where he put it in the DVD player and after a while he could start watching it.
