"However you must come too Y/n."
His words ring through your ears and reverbrate through your mind. You had been asked to go on Asgard. The mythical land, birthplace of Thor and Odin. Why would they take interest in you. As far as you knew, the relationship between Loki and his family were more than just fragmented.
"Hold up. Why?" you question the prince, whose eyes remain locked with your own, eager and as beautiful as the day you first met. His expression twisted and tightened like one of regret at what he was about to say.
"The Allfather has been informed of me courting someone and requests to see you as soon as possible. As well as my mother.", Loki admits whilst staring at his feet and avoiding your gaze.
You were at an utter loss for words, logic had seemingly jumped out of the window as soon as he had started speaking. This was more than just unexpected, it was unimaginable. How many humans were requested to go up to the legendary Asgard? Whose streets were allegedly paved in shiny marble, whose castle was made of solid gold and whose colours were brighter than from any other realms.
The land of the gods, solely belonging to legends and story books.
"When do we have to leave?" This is the first question that comes to mind. Not from eagerness or excitment but from worry. You liked being able to plan and to think everything out beforehand.
His expression tightens once more and he arbours a look of genuine sorry when his emerald eyes lift up once more to meet yours, "Tomorrow at dawn.", Loki mumbled.
This falls heavy like blocks of hefty stone, crushing any hope of thinking this through. Anyways, who could refuse an invitation from the Allfather himself? Certainly not some small Midgardian. Asgard is described as near heaven in every book you had read, and even Loki's eyes misted over when he mentionned his 'homeland'.
Your voice started raising in disbelief, stratling the god, "What? How did I not know this?"
Upon your accusatory tone, he raised his hands up in defence, refusing to be blamed for this. Of course the lines of his head and clipped tone revealed how much he loathed the order to return to Asgard, probably just as you did.
"My brother has just informed me and now I have to play the messenger pigeon.", he grumbled.
Your slight initial fury had since long died down or more likely had been redirected towards the person responsible for all this. Odin had caused so many problems from his children's upbringing that there was hardly a thing in their life he hadn't directly or indirectly meddled with. Loki's entire image whether for himself or the public had been crafted and destroyed by the eyepatched ruler whose word became law, changing the course of whatever living being had the displeasure of encountering him.
"I need to tell the team." You answered, turning back around to call an Avenger meeting, "You're coming with me."

For once, they were all swift to enter the room in a single file line, originally surprised to see you standing in front with Loki sitting nearby, resting his head upon his pale hands.
You cleared your throat in order to get attention but also to push the butterflies batting their powerful wings within you and making your heart go all up afflutter. "My utmost greetings dear fellow team members.", you announced in a tall pose, trying the tips you had recently seen to assert confidence and dominance.
In retrospect, maybe that video wasn't the best for that.
"Y/n. It's not because you called the meeting that you have to act like you're the f-ing President." Sam grinned, censuring himself since his seat was next to the one occupied by the super soldier.
