(Silver Wolf POV)

I lounged on my worn-out couch, lost in the pages of a gripping mystery novel. I rarely read those, but this one was quite good.

The sudden ringing of my phone shattered the stressing atmosphere of my apartment. Normally, I wouldn't bother to interrupt my reading for anything less than an emergency.

For once, I was in peace. However, as I glanced at the caller ID, my heart sank. It was Blade. No, freaking way. What the hell ? Blade ? Calling ?

"Hey, Silver." his voice sounded tense, and I've never heard him like that.

"Have you seen Y/N lately?" He said quickly.

My grip tightened on the phone. Y/N, my friend, hadn't crossed my path in days, which was highly unusual. Well, we were both busy, but the one who should have seen her was him.

"No, I haven't. Why? What's going on?" I gulped, almost as thrilled as in my book.

There was a heavy sigh on the other end of the line.

"She's missing, I think. Not at her place, not answering her phone. I'm starting to worry."

Panic bubbled up inside me, threatening to suffocate rational thought. Y/N was responsible and reliable. She wouldn't just vanish without a trace.

"Okay, I'll meet you. We'll figure this out together." I said quickly and headed towards the cafe we decided.

As Blade and I met at the nearby cafe, we sat in silence for a while. We combed through every possible lead, retracing her steps, reaching out to mutual friends, and even scouring social media for any hint of her whereabouts.

"Let's keep this simple..." I sigh, obviously in denial about what was happening.

"Maybe she just needed some time alone." I offered tentatively, the words feeling weird even as they left my lips.

Blade shook his head, his brow furrowed in deep concentration.

"Y/N wouldn't just cut off all contact without letting someone know. Something's not right." I nodded. He was right, and the fact that we can't track her too. The person who did that must have the capacities.

"What about work? Did she mention anything strange happening there?" Maybe was it about the fact that she got accused of those things ? That I was framed too...

Blade's eyes narrowed as he mulled over the possibility. He groaned and rubbed his eyes.

"Listen, I checked with her colleagues. They said she hadn't shown up for the past few days. And knowing Y/N, she wouldn't skip out on her responsibilities without good reason."

"Yeah, even when everything was messy, she was at work."

Silence fell between us, heavy and pressuring, as we both denied the unsettling reality of Y/N's disappearance. It was as if she had been swallowed whole by the darkness, leaving behind nothing but a void of unanswered questions.

And then, like a bolt from the blue, it hit me. Owl. The mere thought of him sent shivers down my spine. Y/N had confided in me about the lingering threats and harassment she had endured since their breakup.

Could he be responsible for her disappearance? After all, he promised her such a treatment...shit. That explains so much.

"Do you think it could be Owl?" I voiced the fear that had been at the edges of my mind.

Blade's expression darkened, his jaw clenching in anger. He tilted his head back and cursed.

"Fuck, how dumb am I ? It's possible. He's been obsessed with her ever since they split. We need to find her before he does something reckless." He was getting, I stopped him.

"It's like she's vanished into thin air." Blade muttered, frustration etched into every line of his face.

"He's a psycho. He's almost better than me at hacking stuff. That's why everything will be so fuzzy."

"Great ? How will he be sued ? Nobody's gonna believe us. Look what happened last time ?"

"Did she mention anything about where he could be ? Wait. Could he have kidnapped her ? But when..."

Suddenly, Blade clenched his fists.

"I think I know. I left her alone, 4 days ago, in her house. I had to leave and since then..." I had so much to ask. Why was he with her, but more importantly, WHY DID HE LEAVE HER ALONE ??? SHE WAS IN DANGER. IF KAFKA FINDS OUT, ITS OVER.

"Dude. When she was in danger, DANGER, you left her ? I would have covered for you if that was so important, the work !" I wanted to hit him, but I knew that guilt wasn't a feeling this man was used to. That'll be enough.

"Alright, let's calm down." I sigh and think.

"Did you see Owl ? I saw him on the security cams. He's coming to work. So if he really does have her in captivity, he's a fucking madman." Blade turned to look at me and sighed.

"Oh ? You've noticed only now ?? What a genius."

"Oh shut up, mister I'm hiding my obvious fucking feelings and now I fucked up—"

He slammed his fist on the table, causing people to be shut, and looking at us.

"Shut up. I swear when this is over, I'll show you no mercy." Ha. He did not deny.

"So, we have to start by following him, no ?"

"No. It'll be like confronting him. We have to fucking catch him and beat the shit out of him."

"Oh, what a rational thought..." I rolled my eyes and got up. Blade followed, and we headed to the Headquarters.

"He took vacations. He'll be back in a week." We looked at each other, flabbergasted. HE did what now ? Kafka scowled, wondering what we really wanted.

"What do we do now ?" I look at Blade, whispering. He stood there, silent, lost in thoughts.
