The ghosts are everywhere, it's surprising how I never notice them before considering how loud and annoying they are. And it's exhausting to see or hear them, I don't know why. But since my house have magical ghost repellent or something in it, I've been pretty much been finding an excuse to just stay inside forever.
Of course, that doesn't work out quite well because touching grass is essential to human life. And I feel very trapped if I stay inside all day long.
"So, since I'm free, I can do a lot more now," April said, "I've been investigating! And I think your family is magic oooooooooooooooooooooooooh. I know right? So cooooooooool!"
"No. Please. This is not a fantasy. No magic," I told her, backing away from her statement.
"But your aunt can cut up soup into pieces! I didn't look so much into it at first but who the fuck cut up liquid soup, turn them into solid pieces and it's still technically still liquid? She defies physics," She pointed out.
"... that's it? My aunt can cut soup?" I blinked.
"Go ask her about it!" She urged me, "Maybe she'll know."
"Because... she can cut soup?"
April sighed and threw her hands in the air, "Fine! I'll find more evidences."
I was gonna play my violin but then the headaches hit me. Seeing ghosts might as well be a sign of schizophrenia, which I don't have.
Maybe I should see a therapist. Or psychiatrist. The psychiatrist friend that mom have randomly diagnosed me with OCD one day and never help. I hate that guy. I'm also 87% sure that he's having an affair with my mom but what do I know?
I heard a ding-dong downstair and remembered something. The Frenchs are coming.
There's my uncle on my dad's side who decided to move to Paris, the city of love, to find love. But instead of romantic love, he adopted 2 kids instead.
There's Aimee, she can see the future. At least she claimed she can. Last time I went to Paris to visit them, she was predicting some popular show was gonna be made about ladybugs in Paris.
Then her sister, Noele, well she's a mature child. That's a good thing. The French are less unhinged than the british... I guess.
"Salut!"Aimee cheered, hugging me, "it look like your life is going to not be so great this year!"
What what what now?
She turned to her dad, "I can't wait for the stork to come! I'll be waiting at night to catch a glimpse of him!"
What lies is he feeding to his child's delusional thoughts?? She still doesn't know she's adopted, doesn't she?
"Yes... But like the tooth fairy, you can't see it. The stork don't come unless everyone's asleep," her father explained to her slowly, hoping she'll take his word.
"I'll be the first to see it then!" She said all determinedly.
A pang of headache hit me as I saw ghosts moving outside the window. They can't come in, that's a good thing.
I slowly retreated to me room, bringing Princess with me. Despite the amount of animal abuse that we probably committed, he's a good emotional support animal.
He got squished in my hug.
"April.... What do we do?" I asked, turning to the ghost in the room.
Ever since she's here, I haven't been doing the normal activities I do.
"I want to know who that guy in my memories was!" She groaned, "and get that cat away from me! He's scary!"
Princess eat, sleep, and poops. He can't do anything to save his life, much less hunt others.
"And your aunt is definitely up to something!" She added, "or knows something! Like magical. Hydrokinesis. Pyrokinesis. Physiokinesis."
She's just listing random abilities.
But if she can control the fire? That would be bad. Like horrible.
Fire is bad. She could burn the house down and end the bloodline. I mean the whole family is now rounded to one place so she could definitely do that. Why?
I don't know, cause she's weird. I mean that's reasonable.
Or my mom? I mean she always hated C- her. She has reasons to also have power, being related to my sister.
What if she could burn things? People? Me?
What if I also can burn things? And kill everyone? Or myself unintentionally? Or intentionally?
I mean does that make me bad? Because murderers thinks about killing people all the time. And I do too? Is that foreshadowing my future I might kill someone?
"Um Gael?" April asked, snapping me out of it, "you okay?"
"Yup!" I replied quickly, "never better!"
"I think the little french one is also magical," she concluded.
"What now?"
"Yeah. I'm a ghost so we're like paranormal and magic. And she's differently weird."
"Weird conclusion, okay?"
My phone buzzed like crazy, so I had no choice but to check it.
Heather still thinks I like her or something. She's really trying to get my attention.
Heather: would you still love me if I was a worm? 🥺
Heather: ANSWER
Heather: ANSWER ME
Heather: AY I'M SPARING YOUR LIFE HERE
Heather: ANSWER ME NOW!
Me: no. Worms are gross. I would step on you if you were a worm. And deep clean my shoe afterward.
Heather: we're over
Heather: I have you address
Me: we literally never went on a date
Heather: I'm in your yard
Okay but like if my actual boyfriend- if I ever get one- ask me that, they should be glad that I don't have a thing for worm. That's just fucking weird. I'ld break up
I showed April the text, "she thinks she's scary."
"Don't be insulting her now," she lectured me, "she's hot!"
It's all fun and games until the next thing that Heather sent me showed up. A photo.
"Is that my backyard???"
