The first thing Rose noted, was nausea, as if she'd been punched in the stomach after Christmas Eve; the next thing was a very familiar living room, Mickey's living room, with both her mum and boyfriend staring at her utterly shocked.

"Oh my God." Her mother gasped and rushed to hug the blonde.

"Mum," She struggled in her firm embrace. "Can't breathe, gonna puke."

Jackie removed herself. "Sorry. How the hell did you do that?"

"You shouldn't be asking me that question." She muttered angrily before checking her wrist where Alcyone had wrapped something around it. It seemed like an ancient watch, but at the same time, it was pretty innovative and complex. She tried to push any button she found but to no avail. She huffed in annoyance, muttering a of course it wouldn't work before straightening her jacket and heading to the flat's door.

"Where d'you think you're going?" Mickey asked for the first time, not even surprised anymore by both the supernatural phenomena that just happened and the fact that Rose didn't even bat an eyelid at him. That was Rose, after all.

"To save him, of course." She replied offended.

"You can't go back." Jackie frowned, grabbing her by her arm.

"Why not?"

"Why not? Because the entire building is about to explode!"

"So what?"

"So what?! You're walking into your own death!"

"But he's still in there, I can't let him die. Not after everything he's done for me." And, she didn't want her with him at the moment.

"You don't even know him."

"Enough to want to save his life. He's too worth it, mum, he doesn't deserve it." She finished as she let go of her mother and tried again to leave the house. However, it was Mickey this time that stopped her in front of the door.

"You don't deserve it either." He stared at her, challenging her to try and argue. "He destroyed your job, remember? I know things you don't, Rose. He's dangerous. Everything I've found about him leads to death and destruction, and I bet he did it without mercy. That's the real Doctor, not the one he seems to pretend to be in front of you."

Rose hesitated, because yes, it was true she didn't know anything about him, except some bits of the Time War and Time Lords. For all she knew, she could be an evil alien in disguise, ready to kidnap her, turn her to smithereens, and sell them to the highest buyer. And yet, she felt safe with him, felt like she was meant to meet him and accompany him on his adventures so he wouldn't stay alone anymore. Well, at least until she appeared.

"But... mum, I need to." She tried, though it sounded less convincing and more like a plea.

"You listen to me, young lady." Jackie almost yelled at her while pointing at her with her finger. Rose flinched a bit. "Whoever sent you here did the right thing, and I'm not even gonna question how they did it if it means you're safe with me. If this Doctor and his friend survive whatever they're planning, we'll talk like proper adults, face to face. No lies."

Rose wanted to argue, but she knew she couldn't win against her mother, even if they had the same temperament. She huffed in defeat and turned to Mickey's room, not wanting to hear the Doctor's and the girl's voices right now. She was so murdering that girl.

She was ready for what was to come, Alcyone knew. She had already prepared her mentally for the Doctor's reprimand or annoyance at not having told him anything about her plan, what if he didn't agree? She knew the consequences of her actions, but still, she was ready to face them.
