Days continued to pass by, and Olivia had trouble adjusting to the 'normal' life, which was coupled with sleepless nights. Her once-familiar room now felt so strange to her, having grown accustomed to the Agency. The emptiness of her house left her feeling hollow, and the lack of activities added to her challenges. Gran proposed the idea of Olivia continuing her studies, but she felt it wasn't her calling. Being agile and cunning was more of her forte, and she longed for an opportunity that would allow her to utilise her skills effectively. She did, however, pursue a new hobby. Every morning, just before dawn, she would set out for cycling. She found her old bicycle laying in the garage, and she remembered how much she loved it as a kid, but her skills had become rusty, so she wished to polish them. She found it to be invigorating to cycle around the town when it was empty.

On one such days, she set out with her bicycle. She sped up on some routes and rested on the others. This time, she chose a different path for her course, cycling by the sea to enjoy the breezy weather to the fullest, and while doing so, she cycled at full speed. The breeze caressed her face and made her sensation akin to being one with the wind, while the refreshing atmosphere lifted her spirits. However, her mood shifted when a vision suddenly materialised before her: a flashback of Midas, his captivating smile etched in her memory.

The unexpected distraction caused her to veer in a zigzag across the road, slamming on the brakes just inches from a pole. Panting in shock, she realised the gravity of the situation: a collision could have sent her flying off her bike. Olivia paused to collect herself, yet her thoughts were consumed by the Agency's boss. Shaking her head, she tried redirecting her focus to the sea and gazing at the clouds, but every sight only served as a reminder of him.

"Midas, I hope you're alright," she murmured softly before preparing to cycle back home.

As she resumed her journey, a black car halted in front of her bicycle, instilling fear throughout her body. Desperate to avoid the car, she attempted to cycle through the side gap, but her efforts were futile. The back door swung open, revealing a man who had occupied her thoughts. Eyes widening, she gasped at the sight of him.

"Olivia," he greeted, his gaze fixed on her. "I hope you're doing well."

Her hands shook as she exclaimed, "What are you doing here, Midas?" A nervous smile appeared on her face.

He smirked, glancing around. "How about grabbing a coffee?"

They strolled to a nearby seaside cafe and took a terrace table. Midas, seemingly distant and worn, gazed at the sea. Olivia noticed the change in him, observing that he wasn't taking care of himself.

Clearing her throat, she spoke up, "It doesn't seem like you've been eating."

Surprised by her observation, he responded, "I barely find time to eat or sleep these days. There's so much work."

Olivia tilted her head, smiling at his dedication to his responsibilities. She found his work ethic endearing. Sighing, he gazed at the sea once more, lost in his thoughts. Unaware of what he said, he mumbled, "I missed your scent."

"What?" Olivia's eyes widened. "My scent?"

Realising his slip, he looked at her with uncertain panic. "I mean, Meowscles missed your scent. You know, that cat has a strong sense of smell. He claims that the Agency doesn't smell like you anymore."

His innocent explanation made Olivia chuckle. "You could just say you miss me."

He lowered his gaze and nodded slightly. "I truly do." Closing his eyes, he mustered the courage to express more. "I wish you could come back. It's awfully lonely without you, and everyone misses you. Every agent plays a crucial role, and the Agency is incomplete without them. While I may be the pillar that holds the team, you brought light into it. It's dark without you, Olivia."

His words weighed heavily on her heart, and tears welled up in her eyes. Despite her efforts, they rolled down her face. The unfamiliar sensation of being deeply wanted and belonging to a place tugged at her emotions. Looking at Midas, she saw him extend his hand, an invitation for her to rejoin.

Amidst the conflicting thoughts in her mind, her heart yearned for one thing – to return to the Agency. Choosing to follow her heart this time, she took Midas's hand, witnessing a genuine smile brighten his face.

"Attagirl." He whispered under his breath, while she laughed lightly, tears still rolling down her face. His hand reached to tenderly brush away the tears from her cheeks, and she didn't retaliate to this action. She welcomed his cold yet gentle touch against her warm skin, and shortly enough, he cupped her cheek in his hand. The two lost in the moment, staring at each other with a tender gaze, decided to move closer, but as soon as their lips were an inch away, Midas looked away.

Perplexed with his sudden change in gaze, Olivia moved back. "What's wrong?"

He bit his lower lip and tried to avoid eye contact. "I don't think I'm ready." Pushing back his hair, he continued. "Would you be able to wait for me? I need time to figure out my feelings. I appreciate you too much, Olivia. I don't want your feelings to be in vain. I want to be able to return your feelings, but right now, I'm not the best version of myself and I don't think I can give you what you want."

Somehow, Olivia understood every word he said. It was not easy to return feelings to someone when you're not the best version of yourself, and with Midas being a perfect figure, he must have been struggling with his own personal battles. Regardless, she appreciated him being upfront about it, and wished he could always be open with her. With a smile on her face, Olivia nodded. "Take all the time you need, Midas. I will always be here."
