What Midas had explained regarding the mission was clear to Olivia. But what she wasn't sure about was being able to adapt to the behaviour of the ghost henchmen in order to blend in with them. She had never encountered them, and naturally she was unaware as to how they behaved. However, Midas scheduled an urgent meeting in his office regarding this matter and she was sure she would find out more details. She hurried to his office and found him seated on his desk.
"Are we having a meeting here?" She questioned.
"Yes, we are. The office inside is my personal one and no one enters until I permit." He tastelessly replied and rummaged one of the drawers of his desk to pull out a digital tablet. "Take this, it's your personal tab. Carry it around with you at all times, except for when you're on a disguise mission, which would be the case tonight."
She grabbed the tablet and the front screen of it welcomed her. It recognised her face and unlocked to the home screen which presented with all the necessary applications that would be required by her. However, her attention was grabbed by the footsteps entering the room and she quickly turned around to find all the agents coming in.
"Gather around." Midas pressed a button on his desk, which caused the ground to split into two and a long table with seats emerged from beneath it. Everyone moved towards their seats, Olivia was intrigued by what just happened but she wasn't surprised anymore. She had grown accustomed to such anomalies. Her feet led her to an empty seat and she settled on it before attentively turning to Midas just like the others.
"This is an important matter. Tonight, we will be sending Olivia to her first mission. She will work in disguise and attend the ghost henchmen meeting taking place tonight. I am confident that she can easily find some valuable information because of how skilled she is." He said all of this plainly, but confidently. His aura changed when he addressed his agents, evoking a pure sense of his leadership and it was this aura that made it hard for anyone to object him. No one opposed him. Instead, everyone turned to stare at Olivia to give her a subtle nod of 'good luck.' Midas himself did the same. "Olivia, any questions?"
"Yes." She hesitated. "I don't know how the ghost henchmen behave like. How will I blend in with them?"
"It's simple." Maya smiled before tackling her question. "Just be confident. The moment you falter, they will know you're a fake. Walk like you own the place, talk to them as if they're your siblings. Because your disguise skills are remarkable, you will easily learn the blending skills. When I come back from my mission, and you from yours, I will train you more."
This was the first time Olivia heard Maya speak properly, and for her, she was the only agent who acted mature. Midas smiled before replying "Maya, thank you. I deem it to be suitable for you to teach Olivia once both of you return. I wish you both a good luck. Meeting adjourned."
Everyone stood up and started leaving one by one. Everyone but Olivia, who stayed back to ask Midas more questions.
"I won't say I'm scared." She began, unable to look at him. "But I am worried. Just yesterday, I didn't want to work for you and today, here I am. I don't want to disappoint you."
This made Midas smirk. "Would you die for the Agency?"
She didn't think twice before answering this question. "Never."
"That answer itself has disappointed me. Don't worry Olivia. I understand I have forced this upon you, and that you detest us and our cause. Your sentiments are justifiable. Even if you fail, it won't matter to me. However, your safety is my bother. If you ever find yourself in trouble, believe me, I will be the first one to rush and help you. I don't want you to be in trouble because of me."
His words were not bitter. In fact, they acted as a surge of assurance for Olivia, whose worries were eased and she felt calm. "Thank you Midas."
"You don't have to mention it. Also, you need to disguise yourself right away. You'll find the ghost henchmen attire in your wardrobe. I got Brutus to stock up more clothes in there. If you need anything else, don't hesitate asking him." He once again uttered all of this in his monotonous voice, as if he was programmed to say anything that was related to work, his feelings uninvolved.
Olivia gave a nod and headed for her room to put on the costume, and after doing so, she waited for the sun to set. It did so, and it was finally the time for her to put her skills in use.
There was a knock on her door, which made her feet anxiously walk and open the door to present Brutus in front of her. "Follow me." He simply requested.
The two walked through the corridor, until it ended and there was a staircase which led downstairs. Olivia was dumbfounded. She had imagined it to be a devil's game to find the exit of the agency. However, it was way too easier than she had imagined. A staircase down, and they were presented with the entrance of the huge building. However, it was well guarded. There were cameras and drones all around, and once they left the building, Olivia realised that there was water all around the structure of the agency. It wouldn't have been a factor to worry about if she knew how to swim.
"I can't swim." She cried, staring straight into Brutus's eyes.
"You aren't going to." Midas's voice replied and she turned around to find the boss of the agency himself. "You're going to fly instead." His words were followed by a loud buzzing sound which caused her to gaze into the direction of the sound in the sky. There appeared a magnificent helicopter, which made her jaw drop, and it moved in their direction.
Midas was fascinated by her amazed look, for her eyes were the widest he had seen and her movements were restricted, as if she was frozen. But that was what he didn't like. He hated it when people froze. "Olivia, come back to your senses."
"I'm sorry." She whimpered, unable to fathom the beauty of the vehicle that had landed in front of them. It was a sleek design, the chopper wasn't that weighty but it was spacious.
She moved towards it and Midas silently held out his hand for her to grab as support. Their glances met for a second, and Olivia felt her heart skip a beat while reaching out to hold his hand. His golden hand, that felt eerie and cold previously, radiated heat this time. Her feet stepped into the chopper, one at a time, but she found it hard to let go off his hand, and surprisingly he didn't go either.
"Be careful." He murmured, withdrawing his hand, his voice carried forward by the wind to be heard by Olivia. The chopper raised into the air, and the higher it rose, the deeper her heart sank.
