Chapter 23: The Direwolf Hunter

Evening

Yin Wei is meditating when AJ goes up to him

AJ: "Shifu? I'm back from my break"

Yin Wei looks up at AJ with one eye

Yin Wei: "Just in time"

AJ: "Anyting wrong?"

Yin Wei: "Yes...i tuned into the arts of my ancestors. Its an ability dragon and dracotaur clans have while meditating. However, they're telling me something I've never seen before. There's a disturbance and something just happened"

AJ: "What is it?"

Yin Wei: "I'm not sure. It will ta-"

Yin Wei's eyes immediately opened in shock after the impulse he received

AJ: "Shifu?!"

Yin Wei: "Your friends...they're in danger"

AJ's eyes also open up in shock

Cut to Sangria & Dired

Sangria: "You're quite strong. I'm impressed. Originally, I thought this would have been like flooding an ant hill."

Dired: "The few months I spent in the wild would have been a waste. I have her to thank for the blessing of these powers. If not, I'd have never had my awakening"

Sangria: "All people like you do is ramble things that wont matter once i crush your head into the pavement"

Sangria charges forward. As she's about to slash Dired, Dired & Yuki appear to vanish out of thin air.

Sangria: "What the?"

Dired reappears behind her. Sangria realizes and deflects it with her claw. Just as she does this, Yuki runs out the forest and tackles her down. Sangria catches herself after. Dired stares in anticipation. Dired then tries to charge toward Sangria. Sangria places a wall of dark lightning to stop his advance. Yuki begins running toward the wall. Dired jumps onto Yuki's back as Yuki jumps. Dired then jumps off of Yuki and flips in the air to get over the wall. After landing, Dired charges forward to stab Sangria. Sangria deflects it. Dired then tries to kick Sangria before she grabs his leg and throws him towards a tree. Dired immediately vaults off and uses the tree as a base to launch himself towards Sangria. Sangria fires a bolt of black lightning while he's midair and Dired does a barrel roll to avoid it. Sangria deflects the attack before Dired goes in for a kick again. He kicks Sangria in her jaw. He flips off where he kicked her and lands on the ground after flipping while Sangria is forced to the ground. Sangria stands up.

Sangria: "Ergh...this isn't the same wolfy i was fighting before"

Dired: "You just haven't seen this side of me. In fact I almost forgot who I was"

Sangria retracts her claws. On the underside of the gloves, a katana sized blade pops out from each hand.

Sangria takes a defensive stance. Dired appears to charge forward. Suddenly, Yuki pushes Sangria which breaks her stance. Dired then slices her side with his knife. He then uses his foot to change direction. He slices her back before he kicks her away before taking a crouching fight stance. Yuki then appears behind Dired. Griz, still on the floor looks at Dired

Griz: "You're doing a good job...but how long do you think this will take?"

Dired: "Not sure. She's the toughest opponent I've faced. All of what I've done wouldn't have been possible without this eye"

Sangria stands up, bleeding from where Dired grazed her

Dired: "I don't want to do this for too long. Can you stand?"
