Morning
He awakes the next morning and a different nurse returns.
Nurse 2: "Alright, so 0242? You are required by the lab this morning. Come this way."
Guards escorted his bed to the lab which wasn't too far from his cell block. He had witnessed other humans and even giant animals. Just who were these people.
When he arrived, he was placed next to a giant grizzly bear who was also on a bed. He was terrified.
DJ: *A bear? Why do they have it here? There's no bears in this country.*
The scientist and nurses run their tests and they leave momentarily. That's when the bear speaks to DJ.
Bear: "Hey Kid"
DJ was shocked to hear the bear speak. It's voice was cold and rough.
Bear: "I know, surprised I can talk. Well they made me this way"
DJ: "Do you know how?"
Griz: "No clue. My number is 4749, but i gave myself the name Griz"
DJ: "Griz huh, the name DJ, 0242"
Griz: "I was a regular bear, living in the forest. Then I was captured. I was given a mind and could do the things you humans can do. I don't know if it's a gift or curse, but it hurts like hell."
DJ: "I don't even know what they did to me, but i'm in some pain"
DJ grabs a hold of his head
Griz: "Well, unless you had multicolored eyes before this, i don't see anything else"
DJ: "No..i was passing out a lot and when i looked in the mirror last night, i saw that it turned yellow"
Griz: "I overheard something while i'm here. Its apparent they're turning us into superweapons for their own gain. See that sign?"
DJ looks at the sign. It reads SIC
Griz: "It stands for Suppressive and Investigative Corporation, remember that name. I know i will."
DJ: "What is there for us to do then?"
Griz: "Not much, but if you see an opportunity to get outta here, do it. If you can bring a few people with you, do so."
DJ: "I feel powerless"
Griz: "They did something to you, you gotta sense your change. They'll be back soon, we should stop talking before they catch on"
DJ: "Yeah, thanks alot"
Griz: "Anytime"
Griz turns back over. The scientists came back as predicted. They escorted him back to his cell.
Afternoon
DJ sits up on the medical bed and thinks to himself. Then the first nurse he's met comes back.
Nurse: "0242, i have some results for you"
DJ stares at her coldly but with anticipation. He's handed a file which he reads. He stares at the paper in disbelief. He grips on to the paper and appears shellshocked
DJ: "It can't be...."
