Chapter 29: Tornado Tag Team

Night

We cut to the forest where DJ, AJ and Dired are riding on Yuki.

DJ: "Surprisingly, all of us could fit on this"

AJ: "Ine ga lie, he rolling"

Kala drives up on the side of them in the Hark sedan

Kala: "Still can't believe you convinced them to do this"

Dired: "Yuki is trustworthy. The only thing that can beat him is probably a Mcmillan or a Lamorgese"

Kala: "Where's this guy likely to be?"

DJ: "Well this guy might be attracted by the sound of cars, but being honest, I wouldn't rely on it"

They keep heading down for a while before stopping

Dired: "Last time i checked, my arachnophobia was activated in this area. Plus, I think i have a faint whiff of his sent. Its east."

The 3 guys hop off Yuki.

DJ: "Kala, we need you here as an emergency evacuation plan"

Kala: "No problem, I'll be your taxi for today"

Dired: "Alright, follow me"

Dired takes off running. AJ follows suit. DJ launches himself and follows along, occasionally touching the floor to keep momentum. They run for a while before Dired stops.

Dired: "The scent is strongest here. I'll be in the shadows, looking out if things get out of hand. You guys got this right?"

DJ: "We should"

Dired then takes off into the darkness of the forest. He's out of sight but his presence is still there. After a few moments, AJ & DJ realize something. They look at each other and then dodge out the way. Reaper and Husk would have kicked their skulls in if they were standing right there.

AJ: "What the fuck is your deal man?"

Husk turns to face DJ and Reaper turns to face AJ. AJ draws his greatsword and DJ prepares his battle stance.

Husk: "We know you'd come looking for us eventually. Lucky treat for us"

DJ: "We have a few questions we wanna ask"

Husk: "Sure, but first, remember what I said last time? We gotta fight first"

AJ: "Why do you wanna fight everything?"

Husk: "You want your questions answered, land a hit on me"

Husk and reaper charge to their targets. Husk swipes at DJ with a baseball bat, DJ easily dodges that. Husk swipes again and DJ also dodges that. DJ tries to sweep Husk's legs but he does a flip over him.

Husk: "Impressive"

Reaper tries to extend her scythes to wrap AJ. AJ jumps up and then puts some energy into a strike. He then dives towards Reaper to land a hit before Reaper dodges out the way. He then uses the remaining momentum to sweep a strike. Reaper dodges again. Reaper then tries to grab hold of his weapon using her scythes. Reaper then tries to kick AJ before AJ grabs her by the neck and facelock dives her. Reaper is agitated, laying on the floor while AJ grabs his greatsword again and watches.

DJ continues to dodge Husk's strikes before finally landing a kick to his side. Husk coughs at the force of the kick as he is sent flying into a tree.

Husk: "Incredible"

Husks gets up immediately

DJ: "Last time i did that, I'm sure i hit a rib"

Husk: "It's gonna take more than that. But you are truly strong. But are you truly stronger than me?"

Husk suddenly launches forward and DJ dodges it. Husk quickly does a 180 and hits DJ right in the rib with his bat. DJ holds where he got hit and Husk kicks him to the floor.

Husk: "Heh heh, doesn't seem so"

DJ stares husk down. In an instant, DJ phases behind Husk. Husk in confusion is open. DJ then kicks Husk. Husk deflects it with his bat sending him flying. DJ then uses the tree to gain momentum as he launches a flying kick towards Husks head. Husk is hit. Afterwards, DJ kicks the baseball bat out of his hands. He feels his owl rage flowing once more, but this time he's more in control. He delivers kick after kick to husk's body and then kicks him up into the air. DJ then jumps up into the air and kicks Husk back to the ground. Husk lays there, bleeding slightly from the hits but has so much adrenaline, he's barely feeling pain.

Husk: "Woah shit, that's awesome"

Reaper once again picks up her scythes and now has a new method planned. Reaper creates a black aura around herself. AJ stares her down, wondering what she's planning. AJ starts to feel slightly weaker, as if some of his life energy is being drained.

AJ: "What the-"

AJ realizes she's causing this and immediately charges forward to hit her with his greatsword. The aura disappears and she moves to deflect this attack.

AJ: "So you're an actual reaper you sneaky bitch? You were trying to put me to sleep."

Reaper: "You're a smart one"

Suddenly, a bolt of lightning seems like its gonna hit AJ. He sense it but most likely wont be able to move out the way in time.

AJ: *Shit*

Just then, Dired appears and holds his sniper rifle at the bolt. The rifle absorbs the bolt. He then quickly aims and fires a bullet encrypted with black lightning back in the same direction it appeared. Everyone appears to be shocked witnessing this. As the bullet is fired, Sangria launches herself towards Dired. Dired takes out his knife to parry her claws before she gives up and bounces back towards Reaper.

Dired: "I figured it would come to this"

AJ: "And just our luck, she's with the terrible two"

Sangria: "I've been meaning to end you since our encounter yesterday. I haven't been injured like that in so long"

Dired: "That just sounds like I get to comment about your fatherless behavior again"

Sangria feels the most irritated she's ever been. Husk gets up and stands by Sangria and DJ quickly goes towards his boys. Both sides stare at each other as if they're about to have a legendary battle. All of a sudden footsteps are heard from the bush. They all turn their stance towards the forest to see SIC soldiers moving towards their position. Infront of them are 3 individuals that stand out more than the others leading their march.

Husk: "Who the fuck are those 3?"

DJ: "That's the Oracle"

AJ: "Just what I needed tonight"
