Chapter 27: Threats & Counters 2

DJ: "Oh hey Mandy. We were a bit on edge since no one knew our address. Speaking of which, how'd you find us?"

Mandy: "I have my ways. But none the SIC can use. And crew, nice to see you in person. Especially you Griz."

Griz stands up from the bed

Griz: "I can say the same"

Mandy: "Sounds like your voicebox is healing too"

When Mandy enters, DJ closes the door. He signals to Bronx to guard the door. Bronx picks up his pistol and leans on the door.

Griz: "Yeah. glad it is."

Mandy: "And the rest of you, we haven't met but I'm the radio contact."

Archimedes: "Only person who wouldn't know about you is Kiki. The rest of us heard of you."

DJ: "What's the reason for your visit? If anyone saw you come here, it could be trouble for us all"

Mandy: "Why do you think I had the mask on kid? Anyway. Its my only day off out of the 6 day work week for medical staff. I have info to share. And I thought I'd do it in person considering i would have probably just stayed in my bed and watch TV the whole day."

Bronx: "Sounds like the life lady"

Mandy: "Well i guess so. But for you guys i have something that can pose a threat to this entire operation."

Mandy says this as she leans on the wall. Everyone pays full attention.

Mandy: "Lets see, where do I start. I'll assume you're still working on breaching the database"

Kala: "Nah, got into that already"

Mandy: "Hmm, you're a smart one. You SIC too?"

Kala: "Nope. Just took the jacket because I thought it looked cool"

Mandy: "Hmm. It fits you. But anyway, area 63 formed a partnership with area 62. This details basically the use of shared security forces to round you guys up. They are fearful after the area 64 incident. Which this partnership, the SIC is reinforced and more coordinated now. All those soldiers you took out? They're back by 1.5. But these guys arent the ones you should be fearful of. Area 62 has a special forces group known as The Oracle. Its a 3 member team of specialized soldiers that also happen to be nearly as high as the commanders. Theyre quite a menace. You should be able to handle them as long as they're not accompanied by other soldiers."

AJ: "Fuck"

Mandy: "Hey, its not all bad. You guys got me. The inside woman"

DJ lets out a huge sigh

DJ: "I don't know where we'd be without you Mandy."

Mandy: "No problem. There's gonna be another meeting tomorrow. Its gonna be between the commanders of the guards. There's where they'll coordinate tracking you down. But i doubt they'd suspect you'd be here. Practically, if anyone sees you, you'll have to kill them or kidnap them. Ofc, that should be no problem considering i can give less of a damn about anyone there. Only the nurses are somewhat polite and considerate"

Dired: "So basically, they're gonna send the Oracle after us?"

Mandy: "Its possible. They wouldn't have gotten back yet, and my next shift isn't until tomorrow. So I wouldn't know until then. But thought id just give a passive heads up. Now.."

Mandy stares at Kala

Mandy: "You"

Kala: "Kala"

Mandy: "Kala. I assume I was in the middle of something when i briefly interrupted."
