-blooming feelings-
"How did your exam yesterday go?" Chan asked Jeongin, as they were sitting in the office. They hadn't seen each other yesterday due to the exam.
Chan had helped him study for that exam, so now he was curious if it had been easy for him. "It was okay, I actually knew more than I thought." Jeongin answered, smiling at Chan widely.
"Very good, I knew you could do it." Chan got distracted staring at Jeongin's smile. Who allowed him to be so fucking beautiful?
"Honestly, without you I wouldn't have been able to do it. Thank you so much for your help." He shyly reached out to take Chan's hand into his own.
Just when Chan looked down to their intertwined fingers and he wanted to say something, the door to his office opened. Normally he would have complained that the person hadn't knocked before entering, but the worried expression on the nurse's face indicated that something had happened.
"What's wrong?" He asked in a calm voice, getting up from his desk, pulling Jeongin with him, since they were still holding hands.
"There is an emergency, you need to do a surgery quickly." The nurse spoke, pointing in the direction of the hallway to the surgery rooms.
Chan didn't hesitate a second, rushing in the direction, Jeongin following him. The younger's eyes widened in horror, when he saw someone being carried into one of the rooms on a stretcher.
He had worked in this hospital for a rather long time already, but he had never been in a big surgery, since he was just an intern. Therefore, he had never seen someone lose that much blood at once.
The woman seemed to be unconscious and blood was soaking her clothes. He couldn't even imagine what had happened to that poor woman and to be honest, he probably didn't even want to know.
Everyone in the hallway stood frozen, eyes following the paramedics, who carried the stretcher and once the door closed behind them, Jeongin let out a breath, that he had been holding. It was so cold here suddenly, making him shiver.
Jeongin was startled by Chan's sudden voice, bringing him back to reality. He was strangely calm for what he had just seen and for being the person, who had to save the woman, but then again he had probably done this a thousand times already.
"Innie, you've been working here for long enough, I need your help in there." He was serious and if Jeongin's mind wouldn't be somewhere completely different right now, he would have found him unbelievably hot. He also didn't have time to blush at the nickname, that Chan had used for him, because he was already pulled through the door.
"What?" He asked out of disbelief, but Chan didn't even answer. He knew Jeongin had heard him.
Knowing he couldn't get out of this situation, Jeongin tried to relax and focus, thinking about everything he had learned during the internship already. He was relieved that Chan was here and not someone else, because he felt at least comfortable and Chan made sure that he didn't do anything that he wasn't supposed to do.
Quickly, yet carefully they go ready for the surgery, other people were in the surgery room already, getting it ready as well.
The next few hours felt like a fever dream. Chan was so concentrated, Jeongin had never seen someone focus on something like that. He himself luckily didn't have a lot of tasks, as an intern he wasn't even allowed to touch the patient. So he was only here to assist Chan and he was glad about that.
Still, he was concentrated as well and surprisingly, under the pressure of the situation, he was able to work calmly. He was able to do anything he was told to do and now he was glad that this wasn't his very first time being in a surgery room.
