-just one chance-

Ever since their kiss, Jeongin and Chan were awkward around each other and Jeongin hated it. He had liked the kiss and it had seemed like Chan felt the same. Then why couldn't they talk about it?

He was scared that whatever he would say would ruin his chances with Chan, but he needed to say something. His internship would be over soon and he probably wouldn't see Chan after that anymore. Except he somehow convinced him to give him a chance.

"Chan?" Jeongin asked nervously. When the blond turned around to him, he was surprised that he had even heard him because of how quietly he had spoken.

"Yes?" Chan hoped Jeongin would finally say something about the kiss. He didn't know how to start the conversation and he was scared that Jeongin hadn't even wanted to kiss him. What if he had only done it because he had felt pressured? He knew that he was probably just overthinking this, but he couldn't help it.

"You're so quiet." Neither of them could stand the silence between them. Even if they were working, one of them always found something to say.

"You're usually the one, who talks all the time." Right after saying this, Chan already regretted it because it sounded like he didn't want Jeongin to talk that much. "I didn't mean it like that. I just mean that you're quiet too."

Jeongin nodded, but what the hell was he supposed to even say? "I'm just confused."

Would he finally say something about the kiss? Chan listened closely after he asked, "Why?"

"You didn't say anything after~" He trailed off and it was clear that he meant the kiss.

Chan furrowed his brows. "You didn't say anything either, though. I thought you didn't like it."

Yup, talking about a problem was definitely always the right solution. Jeongin's eyes widened and he shook his head. "No, I liked it." After he noticed what he had just admitted, he pressed his lips together.

So Chan had been wrong? Good to know, but he was still conflicted, if he wanted to do it again. He had liked the kiss too, of course, but that didn't change the fact that they were in two completely different stages of their lives. Weren't they too different to be together?

When Chan stayed quiet, Jeongin grew nervous. "Say something." He whispered, getting up to stand next to Chan.

The blond looked up at his pleading and wide eyes and he realized that he had to make a decision now. Did he want to try it or not? Before he had found the right answer, he had already gotten up to stand in front of Jeongin.

His hand rested on Jeongin's cheek and the younger honestly couldn't tell if they were about to kiss or if Chan would softly tell him that he didn't like him.

"I'm not sure, Innie."

The words were so bitter sweet. They made Jeongin's heart beat faster, but at the same time they stung. He still didn't have a clear answer to his question. Did Chan want him or not?

"Give me a chance, please." Jeongin looked anywhere but Chan's eyes. He couldn't read his emotions anyway, they were too chaotic.

His hands held onto Chan's shoulders, while he allowed himself to sink into Chan's touch against his own cheek. Jeongin's eyes closed because he honestly didn't know how to handle the pressure in his chest.

"What do I have to do?" Jeongin whispered, feeling Chan's breath against his lips, but he didn't open his eyes, afraid that he'd break through the tension between them and Chan would push him away.
