-stay-

Seungmin usually never went around the hallways of the school during a break, but today something had told him he should better check them. Students weren't supposed to be there during a break because no teacher was there to watch them.

Everything looked normal and it was quiet, like it was supposed to be. No one seemed to be here and Seungmin already thought he shouldn't have left the classroom, where he had been working, just to see if someone was here.

But then he heard voices and they didn't sound happy. Well, some did laugh but it was more like they were laughing at someone. When he walked in that direction, he also heard a sad voice, telling the others to stop.

And Seungmin immediately recognized Jamie's voice.

Now he was furious and as soon as he walked around the last corner, he saw some of his students making fun of Jamie, who looked utterly sad.

"You think she likes you?" One of them asked.

Another one added, "Hyejin hates you. She told me."

"Why do you even love her?"

Every sentence felt like a knife going through Jamie's stomach and he just wanted them to stop. He was crying already, why didn't they stop? His dad always said, he should tell someone to stop if he didn't want something, then why didn't it work?

Then again, it was always like that. Ever since they had found out that Jamie liked Hyejin, they had started making fun of him and it hurt. He only wanted to be in his father's arms right now, no one would even try to laugh at him if he was with him.

Seungmin pouted as he heard this. It was so unfair how those children could affect Jamie's mental health that negatively, without even knowing what they were doing.

Before he walked over to them, he had to remind himself to stay professional. They were children, that didn't know what they were doing and he was their teacher, who didn't have the right to scream at them. Also, just because he had something with Jamie's father, didn't mean that he should become overprotective. Instead, he should solve the situation like he would do it for every other student too.

When his eyes met Jamie's, the boy didn't know if he should be glad that someone was here to help him or if he should be embarrassed that someone else saw him like this.

"What is going on here?" Seungmin asked, his voice louder than usually and stern.

Instantly, everyone was quiet. Everyone was shocked that Seungmin was here and no one wanted to explain the situation. Jamie looked away as well and Seungmin just wanted to hug him and keep him safe. He knew it wasn't good that he felt like that about Jamie when he wasn't even Changbin's boyfriend officially yet, but he couldn't help it.

He tried it again. "You shouldn't be in the hallways during the break. Why are you here?"

The students had never heard Seungmin this angry. Usually, when someone made a mistake or broke a rule, he was still friendly and explained why it had been wrong. That was different though when someone got hurt intentionally.

"I forgot my jacket." A boy lied. Or maybe he wasn't lying because he was in fact, not wearing a jacket, but they were very far away from the classroom, where his jacket probably was.

"And why is everyone else here?" He asked, looking at every single one of them. "Can someone explain why Jamie is crying?"

He really tried to calm down as he knelt down next to Jamie. "Do you want to talk about what they did?" Now his voice was very soft.
