Sebastian Sallow, POV
~

My slumber I undertook in order to distract myself from my exhaustion, dehydration and hunger was rudely disturbed by two of Ominis's guards running into my cell.

They carelessly unshackled me as I was yanked from the floor, my arms and tense muscles feeling the freedom from the shackles for the first time in what felt like forever.

I had lost track of time and part of myself during my time down there.

"Where are you taking me?" I yelled as my attempts to get them to release my arms went unnoticed.

"We are not at liege to discuss that with you, sir."
One of the guards shouted. Their firm arms wrapped around mine as they began hoisting my limp body up the stairs into the manor.

"Oh come on, Meridith. Surely we can give him a taste of what he's in for this afternoon." The other guard snarled as they hoisted the other side of me up the stairs.

My eyes widened in terror and curiosity as to what I could be in for this afternoon.

"You've been invited to attend the wedding this afternoon. The bride has practically thrown a fit requesting your presence." Meredith, the guard chuckled, going up another step.

I fought against both of their grasps in anger., the fury in my heart regaining its strength with each step into the light.

This was one event I was certainly happy to miss.

Watching the love of my life become betrothed to another I despised, certainly was not on my bucket list anytime soon.

After being re-shackled and forcefully dressed in appropriate wedding attire - one of Ominis's suits it seemed.

I was placed in a chair amongst the grand ballroom, it was adorned in opulent decorations and bathed in the warm glow of flickering candlelight, the perfect setting for what could've been a truely romantic afternoon if not given the circumstances of this union.

The chair I sat in was front and centre to the altar, which I no doubt assumed Ominis in his wicked plans had requested specifically.

Guests started to flood in, filling the chairs quickly.

It was a small and intimate kind of ceremony.

Dark wizards that I had never seen before but read about in my books within my job at the ministry lined the halls. A lot of evil fellows that I wouldn't dare cross.

They all chattered casually in their seats as the sight of me in chains fell on deaf ears.

I wrestled against the chair as my actions sought the interest of Ominis's father quickly.

He sat beside me in seconds as he laid a hand on my shoulder.
A chill ran through me from his touch, making my blood run cold. I pitied Ominis for having him as a father.

"You ruin today and you are dead." He whispered as he sipped from his goblet casually, his other arm not leaving my shoulder as it weighed me down in my seat.
