IT WAS now dark Percy and Carmen finally made it to the amusement park. They hadn't really talked and there was a bit of awkward tension in the air.
"I haven't seen a lot of horror movies, but this seems like exactly the kind of place they'd suggest to avoid." Percy said as they looked at the dark type broken rundown amusement park.
"I've never seen any kind of movie. I'll have to take your word for it." Carmen said looking down. Percy was still confused why she was upset with him. She was jealous over the fact that Percy and Annabeth were close but she couldn't understand her feelings.
"Never? What do you mean 'never' like, 'never-never'?" Percy asked looking at her with his eye brows raised.
"Is there another kind?"
"Well, if neither of us is dead in a few days, we really ought to fix that. You're missing out." Percy said making Carmen smile.
"You would go with me? To watch a movie?"
"Yeah of course always." Percy said making her smile more. He looked at her and smiled. She was so pretty. "In the meantime, we should probably get this over with, though."
Percy walked closer to the entrance pushing the gate with Carmen watching not too far away. Then she saw the gate move weirdly, "Wait, Percy. Stop!" She said before it was too late he was already in.
He looked up and a saw, "Wait, what just happened?" Percy said worrying.
"Just hold still. Gimme a second." Carmen said trying to figure out how to get him out. "In the mechanism there, that's Celestial bronze." Carmen said.
"Oh fascinating." Percy said sarcastically. "Carmen, what is happening right now?"
"Celestial bronze is what your sword is made of. As well as my axe. If you're a human, it'll pass right through you. If you're a monster or a demigod..." Carmen didn't say anything.
"Well, what's it doing there?" Percy asked still looking up.
"Great question. Safe to say, this is not just some amusement park." Carmen's mind then traveled to Leo and his father. "A god built this."
"What kind of god builds amusement parks?" Percy asked.
"Leos dad, Hephaestus." Carmen said Percy's stomach dropped hearing the name Leo. The kid that gave her a necklace. But she was only wearing her camp necklaces they gave the kids for the amount of years they had been there.
