CARMEN was packing up her things it was finally time for her to go find her father. To get answers. To understand why he did what he did. Why he left her. Or why she wasn't good enough for him to raise her.
As she finished packing all her things she gave her siblings a hug good bye and made her way to Percy's cabin. He asked her earlier if she could help him pack his things and talk to her for a while before he left to go meet his mom. She continued to fold his shirt him following the same motions. She then saw the white pearl bracelet on his wrist.
"You still have that?" She asked tilting her head looking at the bracelet. Percy looked over then down to his wrist.
"Of course. Why wouldn't I not have it?" He asked smiling at her.
"I would have thought you lost it during the quest. I'm surprised it's still intact." She said making him smile wider. If she knew that he would guard this bracelet with his life it meant a part of her would always be with him.
"I would keep this forever as long as I live." Percy said as he placed his hand over his heart making her laugh.
The moment was cut short when they heard a voice at the door of the cabin.
"None of this is easy." The demigods turned to look at Chiron. "Saying goodbye." Percy and Carmen started to walk towards Chiron.
"I may not be gone long. I just need to see if Hades has returned her yet." Percy said lookin gat Chiron making Carmen give him a smile.
"I'm going to find my father Chiron. I know he's out there." Carmen said her hands on the straps of her back pack.
"And you two are certain that you won't accept— an armed escort?" Chiron asked as Carmen and Percy gave each other a look.
"We told you. I don't think Luke wants to kill us." Percy said making Carmen look at her feet. Just hearing his name brought chills on her back and touching the bandage on her face.
"I don't think he does, either. That's what scares me. Although, Carmen's injury seems otherwise." Chiron said looking over at Aphrodite's daughter.
"My mother told me she would protect me my whole journey. With the cut on my face it's only there because Luke was a person I loved, when I get hurt by someone I cared for my powers are useless." Carmen said.
