Nicolette made her way to her room, changing for bed, doing her nightly routine, and climbing into bed staring at the ceiling. As Nicolette lay there, she silently hoped that her dreams didn't torment her like they always did every night; though deep-down Nicolette knew her hoping would be pointless. As much as she didn't want the dream to occur, she knew that it would happen anyway.

Nicolette decided that no matter how hard she tried to stay awake, she would eventually lose the battle and fall into the hellish nightmare that awaits her.

Dream Start

Nicolette found herself looking around an unfamiliar room in confusion and fear. "What the hell is going on? Why the hell are you doing this to me?!?"

"I'm only taking precautions my love. I know you think you are of no importance to me, but you're wrong. How long do you think you can keep resisting my call to you? Don't you feel the pull in your chest as if something important is missing, making you feel as though you are incomplete? Do you honestly feel like you belong in the country you live in now? Do you feel that you truly have a connection there, or do you feel more at home elsewhere," Walter asked while circling around Nicolette, watching her every move like a predator watching its prey closely. "I know you are losing your control over the urge to hop the plane and make your way to England and enjoy the countryside in my manor, the very manor that had been built for you and I to seek shelter in. Once you arrive you will see that you will find great enjoyment here. In fact, you will see that you enjoy it so much that you will never want to leave. And should you make any attempt to run away from me again, I will chain you to the bed until you finally accept your place by my side."

"Keep dreaming that it will happen," Nicolette said.

Walter laughed. "Oh, you are feisty. I like that. I also love that you think that I won't get you. But the thing is love, I'm a patient man. I'm also a determined man, and I always get what I want. So, I will be seeing you sooner than you think."

"Unless you have business in the states, I don't believe that will ever happen," Nicolette said.

"You doubt me and my ability to get you where I want you? So cute in thinking that you can remain hidden from me. Once I have you, I won't let you go ever again," Walter said while stopping behind Nicolette holding her tightly.

"Keep telling yourself that. I will never be yours," Nicolette said before Walter bit down hard into Nicolette's neck.

End of dream

Nicolette jumped awake gasping for breath. She knew that trying to go back to sleep would be a struggle. Rather than making an attempt to fall back to sleep. Nicolette got out of bed, making her way out to the living room, to watch television to take her mind off the nightmare that keeps haunting her.

As Nicolette made her way to the kitchen, Nicolette stopped by Evie's room, checking on Evie.

When Nicolette noticed that Evie was still sound asleep, she walked away feeling better, knowing that Evie was sound asleep.

At least I didn't wake Evie up. Poor girl needs sleep after the stressful night that she had at that damn art gallery. Hopefully she will get out of this fun and see for herself that she is good enough to show her art off. Evie has plenty of talent, Nicolette thought to herself as she made her way to the couch, turning the television on, making sure to keep it low, to keep from waking Evie.

Several hours later Evie woke up holding her head. I regret drinking as much as I did. Damn it, if I let Nicolette know that she was right, she will lecture me. Maybe I can sneak past her and get aspirin and some water and hope that she doesn't find out about my hangover, Evie thought to herself as she made her way to the kitchen; not noticing Nicolette sitting on the couch watching her.

Evie grabbed the pills and a glass of water, getting ready to take them, but jumped when someone cleared their throat behind her. Evie turned around spotting Nicolette standing there watching her.

"Hung over," Nicolette asked.

Evie gave a bashful look knowing that her friend caught her. "Before you say anything, yes, I am aware that you are right. I thought that by drinking my problems away last night, it would help me. But it was only a temporary solution that has now decided to bite me int he ass. I learned my lesson. I won't go and do it again. Please forgive me for being a twat about it?"

Nicolette shook her head while giving Evie a smile. "My dear friend Evie, you know I won't hold it against you. I'm the mature one who has to bail you and Grace out of trouble, when you need it."

"Thanks for everything that you do for both Grace and I. We truly do appreciate it," Evie said.

"So, are you going to do the DNA test to find out if you have any family floating around out there," Nicolette asked.

"You really think I should take it," Evie asked.

"It might do you some good to find other family members, that way you can get of this crazy funk that you are in. Besides, you can't be the only Jackson, that is floating around," Nicolette said.

"You're right. Thank you, Nico," Evie said before walking to the living room, grabbing the DNA test. Evie quickly took the test and left to mail it to the lab. When she returned home, Evie found Nico reading a book on the couch.

Evie walked over to the couch, flopping down on it next to Nico, causing her to look up from the book. "Now comes the hardest part of the test. Waiting for the results."

"You will be fine," Nico said before turning back to her book.

A week later

Evie logged onto the DNA test site, checking the results, and was shocked to have received a message from someone named Oliver Alexander.

Evie opened the email, reading the message, explaining he was a distant cousin, and that he wished to take her to lunch at a lovely restaurant he had dined in a week prior.

Evie was pacing the floor contemplating what to do while Grace read the message.

"He's sure as heck white. But if he's paying for lunch, I say go. Don't pass up an opportunity to get treated to a free meal by a dude who claims to be a long-lost cousin," Grace said earning a glare from Nicolette.

Nicolette turned her attention to Evie, showing that she was genuinely concerned. "If you choose to meet with this man, promise me that you will be extra careful. I don't want you to end up missing or dead. You're like family to me; and i would be lost without you here. Besides, someone needs to help keep me sane with Grace around."

"Haha," Grace said.

"It's true Grace. You can be a little over the top at times," Evie said before turning her attention to Nicolette. "You have nothing to worry about Nico. I will be fine. I will be in a public place with a big crowd. I won't be disappearing anytime soon."
