Nicolette tried her best to keep her nervousness hidden from the man standing in front of her staring at her. "Pleasure to meet you, Walter. Mind showing Evie and I to the room that we will be staying in together?"
"I thought it would be nice to give the guests their own accommodations. But I didn't expect Oliver's cousin, Evelyn to bring a plus one with her," Walter explained to Nicolette.
"Hence why I said she and I will be sharing a room," Nicolette replied.
"That won't be necessary. I always have a backup for situations like this. Let me show Evelyn to her room, then I shall take you to your room," Walter said before turning to lead the girls to their rooms.
Both Evie and Nicolette followed behind him, with Nicolette leaning close to Evie. "Please don't leave me alone with this guy. He gives me bad vibes."
"I'm sure you're feeling nervous. This is your first time in a different country. Once you adjust to being here, you won't be as on edge as you are right now. Besides, I'm sure your room isn't that far away from mine," Evie said. Evie noticed the worried look on Nicolette's face, which caused Evie to pull Nicolette into a comforting hug. "You will be fine. Nico, I'm going to be in the next room. If you need me, you can always come walking into my room and climb into bed with me."
"Right, thank you for being there for me, when I need it. I would be lost without you there to help me," Nicolette said before pulling away, when Walter cleared his throat, causing Nicolette to stiffen up as she turned to face Walter. "Was there something that you wanted, that you had to ruin a moment between two friends?"
"As heartwarming as this moment is, I fear that we should be getting a move on. I'm sure your friend Evelyn is tired from the flight here...much like you're most likely tired from your flight as well. Why don't I show you to your sleeping chambers, that way you may begin to get the much-needed rest that you deserve," Walter said.
"You won't need to walk far. I will be staying in the room next to Evie," Nicolette said before following Walter out of Evie's room.
Walter closed the door, before turning and leading Nicolette down aways from the door, causing her to get a bit confused.
"Mr. DeVille, I thought you would be putting me int he room next to Evie's," Nicolette asked confused.
Walter stopped walking, turning to face Nicolette, looking her in the eye. "I have a special room made up for you. I had Mr. Renfield take care of it while we were taking care of Evelyn. Now please allow me to help you get to your room, so you can rest. You look as though you're about to fall asleep where you stand."
Nicolette was about to argue with Walter, but suddenly felt herself grow drowsy. "Maybe you're right. That flight is beginning to catch up to me. I wouldn't mind a few hours to take a quick little nap. I won't miss out on anything important, if I lay down for a bit, will I?"
"I assure you love; you won't miss a single thing. The only thing that might take place while you rest is your friend's cousin Oliver might take Evelyn around to meet the rest of her family, who had been dying to get to know Evelyn, since they found out about her. Nothing major. From my understanding the festivities will be held tomorrow, once all of the guests have had a chance to rest up from their travels," Walter said before picking Nicolette up bridal style, carrying her to the room she will be staying in.
The moment Walter picked Nicolette up she fell into darkness, unaware of the plans that the man who was carrying her had in store for her.
That's right, my precious beauty. Rest now, because there will be a lot taking place that will lead up to such a big day. I finally have you right where I want you. And this time, nobody is going to get in my way or stop me from getting what I want, Walter thought while carrying the unconscious girl to the room that she would be staying in.
Walter walked into the room, gently placing Nicolette down on the bed, before chaining her up as Mr. Renfield entered the room.
"The girl's things are in the room next to her friend like she demanded," Mr. Renfield said before noticing that the young woman was chained to the bed. "Is there any particular reason as to why you chained the young woman to your bed like that?"
"Mr. Renfield, does she not look familiar to you? Have you not seen the portraits of her before," Walter asked while still continuing to look at Nicolette.
Mr. Renfield walked closer and got a closer look. "She looks similar to the young woman in the portrait that you keep in the library. But how is this possible? If this was that very woman from the portrait, then she wouldn't be this youthful, unless you managed to turn her before she disappeared."
"Which I didn't. The woman you see in the portrait, her name is Colette Winters. She was chosen to be my only bride, because she would have been more than enough to make me a very powerful and dangerous man. But she managed to get away from me and keep her descendants hidden from me. It wasn't until technology became advanced enough that I was able to track down all of Winter's descendants that led me to finding my sweet Nicolette. But to be sure that she was the right woman I was looking for, I sent Oliver Alexander overseas to see if she was. Imagine the delight I felt when I received news that she was finally found; after all these years believing that the Winters bloodline was dead. They weren't. I found the remaining Winters. And this time I'm not going to let her slip through my fingers," Walter said while gently running his fingers down her cheek.
"What are you going to do with the other three women," Mr. Renfield asked.
"What do you mean," Walter asked.
"You've already married Ms. Klopstock and Ms. Billington. And you had made the plan to marry Ms. Alexander. Are you going to continue with that plan," Mr. Renfield asked.
"Both Viktoria and Lucy knew that when I found the descendant of the Winters bloodline, they would be nothing more than faithful followers who do as I say. As for Evelyn, I will spare her life and allow her to return to her home to be free, because she single handedly brought my original bride back to me. The one bride who will make me even more powerful than combining the Klopstock, Billington and Alexander women together to make me powerful. Oh, and before you ask, the Klopstock, Billington and Alexander families are aware that from the moment I gained Winter's descendant that any deals made amongst us no longer stand. I know they won't challenge me on that either. They fear me too much to even make any attempt to challenge me," Walter said never looking away from the girl.
