Nicolette shook her head before walking away to take care of other tables that she was tending before Evie walked in.

Time skip

Nicolette walked into the apartment only to be greeted by Evie popping up in front of her. "EVELYN JACKSON, HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO REMIND YOU NOT TO DO THAT?!? Each time you do that you are getting closer and closer to getting punched in the throat.

Evie laughed at that before calming down enough to give a response. "I'm sorry Nico. I'm just really happy that you agreed to go with me to England. I was a bit nervous that I was going to end up attending this wedding that his being held by my family at some manor by myself. Besides, you are my plus one. Not only that, but you also always work so hard, and barely take any time for yourself. Think of this as a much-needed vacation. Who knows, maybe you might meet a guy who catches your fancy. Bring him home to the States if he doesn't already live here. I want to be maid of honor at your wedding. It will be your guy's way of thanking me for bringing the two of you together."

Nicolette gave Evie a stern look. "You are really jumping ahead of yourself. I need you to focus on getting your things packed and not jumping to conclusions. Keep in mind dear Evie we take things one day at a time. Now go get packed, or you will be running around the manor naked or the clothes on your back."

"Good idea. By the way we leave tonight. So you get a move on and get everything you need packed up as well. The sooner we get out of here, the sooner we can get to the airport and meet my cousin Oliver and make our way to England," Evie said before allowing Nicolette to walk away from her to pack for the trip.

The whole time Nicolette was packing, she couldn't help but feel like something was off with the way that Evie's cousin, Oliver kept insisting that Nicolette tag along with them on their trip to England. This almost feels like I'm being set up. But I don't want to say anything to Evie about it, because then she will back out of meeting the rest of her family in the other country. I won't be able to live with myself if I do that to her. I'm going to have to put my big girl pants on and be supportive of Evie and her choices. Even if they do put me on edge a little bit, Nicolette thought to herself while packing her bags quickly, before she and Evie left making their way to the airport, where Oliver was waiting for them.

Time skip to the girls and Oliver arriving at the manor

The drive to the manor was filled with Evie and Oliver talking and getting to know each other, while Nicolette kept quiet listening. As they were pulling up to the manor, Evie noticed the beautiful landscape that the manor has to offer.

"Wow. This is beautiful and so well cared for," Evie said.

"Yes. This is one of the oldest properties to stand in England. Our family lucked out by gaining permission to have their wedding here. The owner rarely allows anyone on his property, due to how much hard work goes into the care of it," Oliver said.

"Well, his wife is lucky to have him by her side to spoil her with such beautiful flowers in her garden," Nicolette spoke up.

"Oh the lord of the manor doesn't have a wife. From my understanding, he doesn't have a fiancé or a girlfriend or anything of that sort. I'm not sure he's even looking for a companion. I don't know though. I know very little about him. But as I said, he is being kind enough to allow us to use his property. I don't want to do or say anything to offend him and have him change his mind of us using his property for this wedding," Oliver explained.
