You rolled onto your side and squeezed your eyes shut as you hoped that you could fall asleep and forget all about the intense cravings you were feeling.
It's after two-thirty in the morning and you don't want to wake Taylor because she had a busy day today and didn't get much sleep last night, so you know she's pretty tired.
But you can't get over how intense your cravings are and what you want you don't have here at home, meaning that you and Taylor would have to go out for it.
You laid there for a good fifteen minutes, just tossing and turning a little, until Taylor spoke up and startled you.
"Is everything okay, baby? Why do you keep tossing and turning?" She sleepily asked before reaching over to turn the lamp on.
"I can't sleep." You said. "I have bad cravings."
On one hand, Taylor was very relieved that you were having cravings because you've moved on from the terrible morning sickness you had been struggling with from before you even knew you were pregnant.
But now, it's the start of another symptom, and she knows this one is going to be intense too.
However, she wasn't complaining.
As she looked over at you, despite how tired she was, she just smiled and reached over to put her hand on your stomach.
You weren't showing just yet but it was inevitable that you would start showing anytime now and she was feeling pretty excited about that.
But, for now, she just likes to touch your stomach because she knows the baby is growing happily and safely day by day.
"What are you craving, my love?"
"A milkshake."
Taylor shook her head with a smile.
"At almost two-forty in the morning?" She teased.
"The baby is insisting on it." You said and she grinned.
"It's hard enough for me to say no to you but saying no to you and the baby is just impossible. What flavor do you want, darling?"
"Any flavor, we don't care. We just need a milkshake."
"Okay, there's a few places open all night around here so it shouldn't be a problem. I'll be right back." She said before kissing your lips.
"Wait, Tay?"
"Yeah?" She said as she turned back around to face you.
"Can we come with you? That way we get it faster." You said and she giggled before nodding.
"Of course, my babies. Come on."
She headed downstairs and you both put your shoes and jackets on before heading out the door.
Getting into the car, she put the key into the ignition and started the engine before pulling out of the driveway and heading to your favorite ice cream spot that she knows is open all night.
She pulled up to a parking spot and you got out before taking her hand into yours.
Going inside, the worker greeted you both with a tired but kind smile.
"How can I help you today?"
"We need just a minute." You said and the worker nodded.
"Perfectly fine, take your time."
You looked over the milkshake options as Taylor hugged you from behind and kissed your shoulder softly.
"What sounds the best?"
"I'm torn between Oreo and strawberry." You replied as you continued to ponder what one to get. "I think the baby is leaning more towards strawberry."
"Strawberry it is." She said before ordering for you.
And, just a moment later, after Taylor finished paying for it, it was placed on the counter for you.
You squealed excitedly before grabbing it, along with a straw, and taking Taylor's hand into yours.
"Do you want to have it here?"
"Yes, please!" You excitedly answered before sitting down at a table with her.
You quickly put the straw in it and begin to drink it quickly, feeling it finally satisfy your cravings and make the baby very happy.
"That's so good." You said.
"I'm so glad you're enjoying it, darling." She smiled before you offered her a sip, which she happily took. "It's nice to know that the baby is finally happy."
"Finally. Maybe after this, I can get to sleep."
She nodded her head as a smile pulled at her lips.
You enjoyed the rest of your milkshake as you and Taylor talked about the baby and other things that came to mind before you got up to leave as your cup became empty.
"Better?" She asked as she wrapped her arm around you.
"Yeah." You said and began to head for the door, only to freeze when you heard another customer order something.
"Can I have an Oreo milkshake?"
You looked at Taylor and bit your lip as she shook her head with a laugh and turned back around, walking back to the counter with you.
"One Oreo milkshake please." She said to the cashier as you held onto her, knowing that you and the baby were truly so lucky to have her.
