The sound of little cries coming from across the hall woke you from your sleep.

You sat up against the pillows and glanced at the clock on your nightstand to see that it was just a few minutes after one am.

You and Taylor fell asleep pretty early tonight but it was what you both needed since the last couple of days have been so long and busy with the birth of your daughter.

You pulled away the covers and got out of bed just as Taylor opened her eyes.

"Y/N? Is everything alright?"

"She's crying." You mumbled tiredly.

Your steps were slow and Taylor could see that you were in pain which was understandable considering everything.

"I'll get here. You come back to bed." She said as she got up.

"What if she has to eat?"

"Then I'll bring her in here. But you're still hurting and you need to take things easy. So lay back down."

Taylor helped you back to bed real quick before she hurried across the hall to Rose.

"What's the matter, honey?" Taylor asked as she tried to soothe her daughter. "Oh, you're okay, baby."

It's only the first night home so Taylor wasn't quite sure what to do to get her to calm down.

"Are you hungry? Hm? Is that it?" Taylor cooed to the baby as she felt her diaper. "I think that's what's going on. Come on, honey. Let's go to your mom."

She walked back across the hall and saw that you had fallen back asleep already.

It broke her heart to have to wake you but she had no choice because Rose was starting to fuss again and it was clear what she was wanting.

You opened your eyes over her cries and sat up as soon as Tay began to walk over to you.

"Someone's hungry."

"Okay." You yawned before Rose was placed on your chest. "Hey, baby. Are you hungry?"

Taylor sat down beside you and you put your head on her shoulder as Rose began to eat.

"Someone has quite an appetite." She smiled. "You're only two days old but you love to eat, dong you, cutie pie?"

You watched her little eyes move as she looked between you and Taylor and your heart melted as her tiny little finger wrapped around yours as she ate.

"She's so perfect. I just can't get enough of her." You softly spoke. "Our little girl."

"She is," Taylor whispered and kissed your shoulder. "We've got so many things to look forward to, a whole lifetime ahead of us."

"I'm so excited."

"Me too."

Tay kissed your cheek and stayed close to you until Rose ate.

When she finished, you patted her back for a minute and then handed her back to Taylor as she began to cry again.

"No, no, no. Don't cry, baby, please. It's only mom." Taylor said as she walked around the room. "I know you like being with your other mom a lot but she had you for nine months."

You chuckled and watched as she continued to shush and comfort your daughter.

"Long may you reign. You're an animal, you are bloodthirsty. Out window panes talking utter nonsense. You have no idea. Strings tied to levers, slowed-down clocks tethered, all this showmanship to keep it from you in sweetness." She sang.

As she did so, Rose's cries began to quiet down as she felt comforted by her mom's voice.

"Way to go, tiger. Higher and higher. Wilder and lighter, for you."

She stopped singing and Rose just let a few little noises leave her lips.

"There we go. You're so cute." She cooed. "Let's get you back to your crib."

However, as soon as Taylor said that last word, almost as if she knew and understood what that meant, Rose began to fuss again.

"No, don't cry! Come on, you were just sleeping, baby. What happened?"

"Tay, just let her sleep here with us tonight." You suggested, sensing that Rose just wanted to be with you both.

Taylor was hesitant to say yes because she didn't want to risk anything happening to little Rose.

But you were both exhausted and she could tell that it seemed like she just wanted to be with you both.

So she agreed.

She laid down on the bed with Rose on her chest and you cuddled up to both of them.

You kissed Taylor's cheek before kissing Rose's head as she calmed down once more.

"She just wants us."

"I guess so." Taylor chuckled. "Okay, let's get back to sleep then."

You made sure Rose was warm and content before agreeing with Taylor and deciding to give into the exhaustion.

Closing your eyes, you put your head on Taylor's shoulder as she looked between you and Rose for a moment, feeling her heart swell as she did so.

"I love you both so much. Sleep well, my loves,"

She put her head back and started to fall asleep with you and Rose; her favorite girls in the world.
