"So do you know if Taylor is coming tonight?" Danielle asked Abigail as they finished getting a few snacks.
"No, she's caring for Rose with Y/N," Abigail explained, to which Danielle nodded understandingly. "I wasn't surprised or upset to hear it though. Rose is only a couple of weeks old and, understandably, Y/N isn't quite ready for Taylor to be gone yet when she can use the help."
"That's true. Well, there's always next time."
Abigail just nodded as they exited the kitchen with trays and bowls of snacks for the get-together with a bunch of Taylor's friends.
Originally, it was Abigail's idea to get in contact with everyone and have them all come over so Taylor could come and just catch up with everyone if she wanted to.
But Taylor wasn't about to leave your side as you're both still adjusting to having a baby and all the things that come along with it.
Her friends were extremely understanding and supportive as they encouraged her to stay home where she's needed more right now.
Although they originally planned to reschedule the get-together, they decided to keep it set up because they wanted to hang out and just have a little fun.
There were many of Taylor's friends there - Danielle, Este, Alana Haim, Selena, Ed, Gracie, Sabrina, Blake and Ryan, Emma Stone, Jack, and, of course, Abigail.
They sat around the room, talking about different things as they snacked a little and just caught up, though most of their conversations revolved around you, Taylor, and Rose.
"Rose is the cutest baby I've ever seen," Sabrina said.
"She is adorable!" Gracie agreed wholeheartedly.
"Y/N and Taylor are such proud moms. They send pictures of her all the time. I think I get more texts from them about Rose than I do anything or anyone else." Selena joked and everyone chuckled before agreeing.
Their conversation was interrupted by a knock at the door.
"Who could that be?" Este asked.
"I don't know," Abigail replied before getting up and going to answer the door.
"Oh, my gosh!" She gasped excitedly as she opened it and everyone immediately looked over to the doorway as you and Taylor walked into the house.
Taylor was carrying the bag over her shoulder while you carried the car seat with Rose inside, sleeping soundly.
"You made it!" Blake cheerfully said as everyone stood up.
"I did! I hope it's okay that I brought my girls along with me." Taylor joked, knowing that no one would mind at all.
"More than okay!" Abigail assured.
You set the car seat on the floor before reaching in and unbuckling Rose before gently lifting her from it and into your arms.
"She is so adorable!" Gracie cooed.
Everyone crowded around you and Taylor to get a closer look at Rose.
They obsessed over every tiny and precious little feature from her tiny ears to her fingers as she moved her hands around in her sleep and even cooed over the adorable little noises that left her little lips.
"Thank you for bringing her!" Sabrina gleefully said.
"Hey, wasn't I the one that everyone wanted here?" Taylor joked. "No one wants to see us as much as they want to see the baby, darling,"
"I know but I can't be mad about it because I can't blame them." You replied and everyone laughed.
"How old is she now?" Jack asked.
"Fifteen days."
"She's too cute for words." Alana complimented.
"Are either of you hungry or thirsty?" Abigail asked you and Taylor. "If you want anything, I think you have plenty of people here who would happily take her for a moment."
Everyone raised their hands to volunteer to take Rose momentarily and you and Taylor couldn't help but chuckle.
"Oh, alright. Here Blake," You said before handing the baby over to Blake.
"Come here, sweetie. Aren't you just so cute? Look at your little ears, you are a cutie pie!"
While she held onto Rose, you and Taylor took a few minutes to hug everyone and thank them for planning such a sweet get-together so you could all catch up and enjoy some time together.
Once you were both finished, Taylor took your hand and you followed Abigail into the kitchen to grab some water before returning to the living room to grab some snacks and go over to Blake to check on your little girl.
"How's everything going?" Abigail asked as she watched Taylor bite into a cupcake.
"Good! Better than good. Life is so amazing. Y/N and I are the happiest and most in love we've ever been." She said as she wiped some frosting from the corner of her lips. "There are hard days and nights, of course. But we wouldn't trade it for the world."
"I know, it's an amazing experience being a mom and having a baby. Rose is just precious. I know you and Y/N hear that all of the time but I mean it. She's adorable."
"Yeah, we think so too. She's the world's cutest baby for sure."
They both chuckled before Taylor took a sip of her drink.
"And you and Y/N are such amazing moms too. I hope you didn't feel too pressured to come tonight. It was okay to stay behind if you wanted to help Y/N with the baby."
"I did but we talked and decided that it would be good for us to get out of the house for a bit. Seeing our friends and just getting out of the familiar home with Rose is something we both needed a little."
Abigail understood and nodded her head before they shared a hug.
"Thanks for saying we're amazing moms though."
"You're welcome. It's true though."
The sound of Rose starting to fuss a little made Taylor turn her head away from her friend and then come to your side as you began to soothe her.
"Is she okay?"
"Yes, she's fine. She's just fussy, that's all. Don't worry, baby. Just let your hair down, and have a little fun with everyone."
Taylor set her drink on the table before wrapping her arm around you and helping to soothe Rose, her cries beginning to turn into little whimpers.
"I'm having an amazing time. I got to surprise my friends, get to catch up with them all and be with my girls at the same time. Trust me, I'm having a great time."
She stole a kiss from your lips and then brushed her finger across Rose's cheek as she slowly fell back asleep and cuddled against your chest.
You and Taylor didn't plan to stay too long, maybe just an hour or an hour and a half; just long enough for everyone to catch up and see the baby.
As much as Taylor still loves to spend time with her friends. enjoys letting her hair down, and still loves that part of her life, she's also loving being a mom and being able to experience everything by your side.
Because nothing in this world will ever compare to how much she loves being your wife and loves being Rose's mom; it's her proudest achievement and the best thing that she's ever had.
