Nineteen and a half hours.
That's how long it's been since you went into labor.
Taylor hasn't left your side since the first pain hit and you're so grateful for that because there was no way you'd be able to get through this without her.
However, as painful as labor was, it was nowhere nearly as excruciating as it was to actually bring the baby into the world.
Taylor's hand was wrapped in yours as you squeezed the life out of it while using the rest of your strength and energy to get your baby out.
You and Taylor have been waiting so long to meet her, she just had to come out now.
"Tay," You whined in agony as you put your head against the pillow behind you. "I'm so exhausted."
"I know, darling." She whispered and kissed your damp forehead. "I know you're exhausted and sore but we've come so far. You can do this, my love. Keep going."
She was encouraging and comforting and kept you going, as she always does.
But there was one thing Taylor wasn't telling you about - how awful she was feeling right now.
It had to be from the lack of sleep, which is something she's used to by now.
But the lack of sleep wasn't the only thing that was causing her to feel dizzy and nauseous - so was her not eating anything in almost a day now.
Through the entire nineteen hours, she's been awake and by your side, she hasn't eaten anything.
She's barely drank anything either.
The last thing she wanted to do was leave your side when you needed her more than ever.
Stepping away for even a moment made her anxious and she just wanted to be here with you through it all.
But her body wasn't handling her lack of food, sleep, and water very well.
She almost felt like she was going to pass out.
But you needed her and she was determined to stay in the moment with you.
Not only that but she didn't want to miss seeing your little girl enter the world.
That's something she's been looking forward to seeing and she wasn't going to miss it.
She shook her head to snap out of her thoughts and kissed your forehead as she watched you continue to use all of your power to bring the baby out, your doctor encouraging you as you did so.
"Not much more, Y/N. It's almost over." Your doctor said. "You're doing great."
"You're doing so good, baby. Come on, keep going," Taylor encouraged again.
But you didn't feel as encouraged as before because she didn't seem to be as focused.
Her grip was getting looser and weaker and when you took a second to catch your breath, you looked at her and saw how she seemed to be swaying on her feet.
"Taylor?" You spoke worriedly. "Baby? Are you okay?"
She didn't say a word.
Instead, she passed out, falling to the floor as her hand slipped out of yours.
"Taylor!"
A nurse came over to her.
"Taylor? Are you alright? Can you open your eyes for me?" The nurse asked her.
But you were frustrated.
Your daughter was on the verge of entering the world, only part of her little body remaining in you but so close to being born.
"Taylor, wake up! You have to get up!" You frustratingly spoke before giving in to the urges again. "I'm the one that our child is coming out of and you're the one that faints? Come on, Tay! Get up!"
Her eyes opened right then and she sat up before looking around.
"Did I faint?" She asked the nurse.
"You did. Are you okay?"
"Taylor, if you don't want to miss seeing your baby enter the world, you better get up now." The doctor said.
Taylor stood up and she felt a little dizzy for a split second but brushed it off because she refused to miss this.
Taking your hand into hers and then pulling your leg back, her heart almost exploded as your daughter finally entered the world.
She began to cry right away, the loud wails leaving her little body filling the whole room.
"She's got a set of lungs on her." A nurse laughed before your little girl was set on your chest.
"I know where she gets that from." You said and Taylor laughed as she wiped away her tears.
"She's perfect." Taylor grinned as she looked at the baby. "Our little Rose."
"She's adorable. Congratulations!" The nurse who had helped Taylor said.
"I'm sorry I passed out," Taylor said as she kissed your forehead.
"I'm sorry I yelled at you when you were passed out."
She laughed.
"I was just exhausted and I didn't want you to miss it."
"It's okay. A human was coming out of you, darling. I think you had every right to tell whenever you wanted during these last nineteen and a half hours." She smiled. "But you were so strong and so amazing. I'm so proud of you."
"Thank you. I couldn't have done it without you."
She kissed your lips softly before you both looked at the baby on your chest.
"It was all worth it. She's here now."
"She is. And she's gorgeous." Taylor spoke before kissing Rose's head softly. "Happy birthday, baby, and welcome to the world. We love you more than anything."
