"There we go, darling. Feel somewhat comfortable now?" Taylor asked as she finished fixing the pillows behind you on the hospital bed.

"Yeah." You replied before she sat down in the chair beside the bed. "Thank you, Tay. I'm so nervous, I don't know what I'd do without you."

"Well, you have no reason to even think about that because I'm staying right here by your side." She promised.

She kissed your hand softly before her phone went off as a text from her mom arrived.

"My mom is texting me. She and my dad arrived a few minutes ago and they're impatiently waiting for the baby to arrive."

You smiled a little before the pain returned and your grip on Taylor's hand tightened.

She set her phone down and tried to encourage you through it.

It was so much worse than before and so much closer too.

According to the doctor who had come in to check on you when you first got here, your little girl was moving a little faster than usual and was probably just a few hours away from entering the world.

It still seems like forever when you're in such intense pain but you knew that it was better than what some pregnant people go through the first time around.

"That's it, good job," Taylor said as you exhaled heavily when the pain was finally gone. "Have I told you how proud I am of you?"

You chuckled and closed your eyes as she lovingly kissed your forehead.

"Only every day for the last nine months, several times a day."

Taylor laughed and gazed at you as you opened your eyes.

"I'll say it again. I'm proud of you, Y/N."

"Thank you, baby."

"We're in this together, okay? We've come a long way. It's just a tiny bit more and then our daughter will be here. Every step of the way, I'm right here with you."

You puckered your lips and she happily kissed you before sitting back in her chair, knowing that it was still going to be a little while before your little girl would be here.

The time crawled.

You felt restless as things picked up more and more.

Taylor was there with you as you walked around the room in circles and she held you when the pain got so intense that all you could do was groan and cling to her.

She continued to encourage you and comfort you as you become overwhelmed by everything.

"Tay," You whispered as the pain returned after just a moment at the most of relief.

Taylor knew this wasn't going to be easy.

You're bringing a human into the world, that's not an easy or painless process.

But she's finding herself wanting to cry a little as the tears fill your eyes or fall against her skin and she held you close, never wanting to let go.

"I'm right here." She whispered. "It's okay, darling. Just focus on me."

It was exhausting and agonizing.

When it all felt like it was too much, when your mind became full of doubts and concerns that perhaps you couldn't do it after all, Taylor was so quick to remind you that in the end this was all going to be worth it.

"I know it's horrible. I know you feel like giving up but it's going to be so worth it soon, darling. I promise you."

You knew she was right and, with her comfort, encouragement, and presence, you were able to get through every agonizing second.

"Are you doing okay?" Taylor asked as she brushed her fingers through your hair as you lay on the bed. "I know that's a stupid question but-"

You squeezed her hand, interrupting her.

"I'm okay, Tay," You spoke before tilting your head back against the pillow with a groan.

It's been eight hours since things first started and according to your doctor, it should be any time now that your little girl is ready to enter the world.

You've been hoping and waiting that it would happen soon because even though Taylor is comforting and you're making it through with her by your side, you were so ready for this experience to be over.

Taylor kissed your hand as you continued to try and get through the pain.

But then, you turned your head and the second your eyes locked, she knew it was happening.

"Want me to get the doctor?"

You gasped a little as you felt an indescribable pressure before nodding.

Taylor pressed the button on the wall and just a few seconds later, the doctor hurried in.

And he confirmed what you were already certain of - your little girl was ready to enter the world, at last.

Taylor took your hand back into hers before her lips brushed against your forehead.

"It's happening, Tay. We're about to meet our daughter soon."

"We are!" She grinned. "Don't worry, I'm still right here with you and I won't go anywhere."

You nodded and closed your eyes as she kissed your temple softly.

It was officially happening; your little girl was almost here and you know that Taylor's heart has to be beating as fast as yours is with excitement.

"I've got you." She whispered in your ear as you took a deep breath, both of you more than ready to finally meet your little girl.
