bonus chapter four: the first time her parents and brother meet Rose

"Hey, baby. I brought a few people with me to meet the baby." Taylor smiled as she walked back into the hospital room.

You were lying on the bed with Rose in your arms as you continued to gaze at her in awe.

"Hi," Andrea grinned as she walked into the room with Scott and Austin following behind her. "Oh, my gosh! She's so precious!"

"Thank you." You said.

"We're just obsessed with her," Taylor spoke as she sat down beside you on the edge of the hospital bed.

"We're all going to be just as obsessed," Scott promised.

"She's so small," Austin said as he came closer and stared at the baby. "So precious."

"So, grandma," You grinned as you looked at Andrea. "Would you like to hold her?"

"Yes!" Andrea gasped before you carefully placed Rose in her arms.

"So, we have a little surprise," Taylor said as she looked at her mom. "Do you want to know what we named her?"

"Of course!" Scott replied.

"Her name is Rose," You replied.

"Rose... oh, yes, that suits you very well, doesn't it?" Andrea cooed to her.

"Rose Gardner Swift."

Andrea gasped again as she looked between you and Taylor.

"You're serious?"

"We are." Taylor smiled. "We considered other middle names, including Andrea, but Gardner fit best so we named her that."

"Oh, precious, you have the same middle name as Grandma!"

You and Taylor smiled happily as you watched her parents and brother with your baby girl.

"You are the most adorable baby I have ever seen. Yes, you are. You're the first grandchild so you're going to be so spoiled. Grandma is going to take every opportunity to babysit you too. We'll be best friends!"

"She's precious," Scott said as he looked at you and Taylor. "She's truly adorable."

"Thank you." You and Taylor spoke in unison.

"I can't believe I'm a grandpa!" Scott said.

"And I'm an uncle. I've been waiting a long time to say that." Austin said and you and Taylor laughed happily.

"Can I hold her now?" Scott asked Andrea. "I'd love to hold my granddaughter."

"In a few minutes," Andrea said, making you laugh. "Grandma's got you for now."

Scott wasn't surprised to see Andrea practically hogging the baby for herself but he just smiled, knowing that these moments were incredibly important to her, especially since they shared a middle name and Andrea would obsess over that forever.

"How are you feeling, Y/N?" Austin asked.

"Not bad. It wasn't easy but it was so worth it and I'm just so overjoyed that she's finally here."

"She's so strong. You should've seen how much she endured. I can't believe how amazing she is." Taylor said and kissed your forehead.

"Makes you fall even more in love, doesn't it?" Scott grinned.

"Yeah," Taylor replied. "I was so amazed by how strong and radiant she was during pregnancy. I didn't think I could love her more. But I was wrong. I'm so in love, more than words could ever express."

You put your head on Taylor's shoulder as she gently pulled you a little closer to her.

Andrea began to quietly sing to Rose as you all watched and listened.

"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are grey. You'll never know, dear, just how much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine away." Andrea softly sang before kissing Rose's head, listening to her soft little breaths and watching as she slept so soundly.

Your baby girl was so loved, more than she could ever imagine.
