C3-A Shattered Heart

*Chases POV*

It was now the afternoon and we finally got to the beach, as I was chilling in the sand I saw a familiar face walk up to me."Hey Chase, do you maybe want to walk with me?" It was none other than Skye the pup I loved for years now.

Since the first day I met her and got to know her I instantly fell for her. I mean come on who wouldn't, she may be a little small but that's something I wouldn't change about her.

"Yeah of course Skye let's go," I say as we head off. We didn't walk far but it felt like a marathon, "So how have you been Skye, It feels like I haven't talked to you in forever and I'm sorry, "I say in a very low voice, she probably hates me know but I still wanted to apologize.

"Chase don't be sorry it's okay, but I've been okay. How have you been Chase?"

"Uhh I-I've been okay as well"I stutter because I haven't been that good lately and it's because of the pup that I'm walking next to right now. Not that she is the problem in a bad way but I want to tell her how I feel, I just don't know how.

"Are you sure, just by the sound of that statement you don't sound too good"

"Of course Skye I'm fine maybe just a little under the weather"

"Okay, whatever you say, but if you are feeling down you can always come to talk to me and I'll always listen"

"Thanks Skye I can always trust someone like you"I see her blush a little bit which is a very good sign for me, maybe she could like me back. As we walk back Ryder says it's time to go home. We weren't at the beach for long so I guess it was nice to get out a little bit.

It gets very boring at the lookout sometimes, playing is fun and all but when it's the same games over and over again it can get a little boring. I just go to my pup house to take a nice nap when all of a sudden...

*Knock Knock*

"Hey dude can you open the door, please" I hear Zuma call out. As I walk toward my pup house I see him with a strange look on his face, almost a little too strange... 

"Okay so I'm just going to get right to the point," He says as I get very nervous it could be anything, My heart began to race and race it felt like it was in the Daytona 500 with how fast it was going.

"I need your help with something and you're the only one that can help me with this"

"Okay so what is it"

"I need to find a way to tell Skye I like her"...My heart shatters and I feel like crying on the spot. However, he said I was the only one who could help him which I thought was strange so I held in my tears and asked him.

"So why did you need me for your help"

"Because you always talk to her and you're the most mature, you might be the best one to help me with this situation. Plus I'm tired of being just friends with her."

"O-Okay y-yeah I'll help you but I can't right now because I'm insanely tired," I say hoping that he just leaves me alone.

"Sure get your rest and thank you Chase your a life safer." He runs off and the second I can't see him anymore the tears come running down my face. I can't believe I waited so long when I should have told Skye years ago, because now Zuma's going to be with her.

My life feels completely dark now, I just want to stay in my pup house forever and cry. That's exactly what I did for the rest of the day just sobbing and crying and mentally cursing myself out for not taking my chance years ago.

Everything I wanted with Skye, wanting her to be my girlfriend, wanting to spend every night with her, wanting to cuddle with her, just wanting to be able to tell everyone that she's mine... but now... I can't.

How could I be so stupid not to tell her...

*Marshall's POV*

I was inside the lookout just playing cards with Robo-Dog when I looked outside the window and Zuma was dancing happily to his pup house. Curiosity began to come over me as I walked outside but instead of walking to Zuma, I hear...crying.

As strange as it sounded to me the sobbing sounded like it came from Chase's pup house. As I walked closer to his pup house the crying only got louder and louder so I knocked on the door waiting for Chase to answer.

"Go away"

"Huh...Chase it's me Marshall I heard you crying and wanted to ask if you were okay."

"I'm not in the mood right now"

"Is it because of Zuma, or something he did"

The crying stops and he opens the door and lets me inside where we can talk in private.

"So how did you find out?" 

"Huh" I reply 

"You said it has something to do with Zuma so I assume you found out"

"Oh no that was just a guess, I saw him acting strange so I assumed he had something to do with you crying."

"Yeah it's his fault I'm the reason like this, I hate him so much"

"Why what'd he do?"

"He likes...Skye,...and wants my help so he can confess to her"Chase says and he begins to cry again now it makes sense why Zuma was so happy. I felt so bad for Chase that I pulled him into a brotherly hug as he cries on my shoulder.

"Chase I'm so sorry dude I can't even imagine how you feel."

"Thanks, Marshall at least you'll always be my best friend"

"Of course Chase I'll always be on your side no matter what."

After that moment I then heard an engine and it sounded all too familiar to me, as I turned around my tail started wagging and I got super excited to see that someone had come to visit us.

It was none other than Everest.

Immediately I say my goodbye to Chase and run to Everest to greet her...or so I thought I would. Instead the first one there was Rocky, they didn't see me so I decided to eavesdrop on them to hear what they were saying.

"Hey Everest nice of you to drop by, so how have you been."

"Hey Rocky I've been great and I'm not just stopping by I came to sleep over with you guys. Skye invited me to spend the week with you guys."

"That's amazing that means we will get time to spend with each other"

"Of course Rocky, I came to spend time with all you pups," Everest says as she giggles I love Everest's giggles there like music to my ears.

"Well yeah, but we as you and I can spend time together right?"

"Sure Rocky because you want to so much we can spend time together, "Everest says with a playful tone.

"Yes," Rocky says In a very low voice, "And of course I want to spend time with you Everest you're the best pup to be around!" Rocky says very enthusiastically.

I see Everest blush and she looks as red as a tomato, something I could never make her do, but I guess Rocky can. 

"T-Thanks Rocky that was very sweet of you," She says and gives him a loving smile.

"Of course now let's go inside"

As I see them run off to go inside the lookout I see Chase walking up to me and just pats me on the shoulder while saying "I'm sorry bud" I guess he eavesdropped on them as well.

"It's fine, maybe he's better for her anyway."

I said that with a bit of anger in my voice but also sadness because now me and chase are in love problems and it could have been prevented if we had just told them how we felt years ago.

Who knew love could be so Complicated.
