"Yes this is my chance," Marshall said as he was ready to go meet Everest near the water tower. As much as we wanted to confess to her, he was still nervous and didn't know if he wanted to or not.
"I have to do this, because... it could be my only chance," Marshall said to himself with determination in his voice. It might not be the last chance ever but it also could and the Dally didn't want Everest to be taken before he even had the chance to ask her out.
As he approached his vehicle, second thoughts began to rush to his mind thinking that maybe this wasn't a good idea."What if she doesn't like me back, then she'll never want to be my friend again, and what if she hates me afterward and never talks to me again..."
Marshall began to think this was a bad idea and wanted to just relax for the night. Suddenly he remembered that she was out there waiting for him so he knew it was best to meet her at the water tower even if it was just to chat.
"Maybe it's best if I don't tell her that way maybe I can hopefully gain enough confidence... ahh who am I kidding, I never seem to find the strength to tell her. I wish it wasn't this hard to ask someone out. If only it was as easy as pup pup boogie."
Marshall started the engine of his firetruck and wanted to hit the road.
"Well where do you think you're going..."
Marshall knew exactly whose voice that was and was very nervous."Oh uh hey Rocky whatcha doing so late at night, isn't it time for your intelligent brain to fall asleep."
"Well, I was about to ask you the same question. Why are you up so late and why are you in your firetruck?"
"Heh uh funny story, I got really hungry and we ran out of my favorite treats so I thought maybe I could go pick some more treats up at Mr. Porters," Marshall said confident that Rocky would fall for the lie.
"Uh-huh, so you sure that's the reason Marshall."
"Yep of course Rocky now if you excuse me I have to go get some treats. This tummy won't feed itself."
"I'm sure you're not going to the water tower to meet Everest there right?"
Marshall froze and his face looked like he saw a ghost. He made sure that nobody was around him and was listening to his and Everest's call. Rocky apparently heard and now there was no way that Marshall could confess now... but it wasn't going to stop him from talking to her.
"Okay listen Rocky I don't know how the hell you know that I was going to meet Everest at the water tower, but uh if you could tell me that would be great because I would like to know..."
"Well it's simple Marshall, you like Everest and I love her so of course I'm going to make sure to have all eyes on you at all times. I mean it Marshall when I say this, you are worthless to her and she doesn't want you SO STOP TRYING."
Marshall began to have tears in his eyes but also did not want to look like a baby in front of Rocky and his mom did not raise a crybaby so he knew what he had to do."Well, the funny thing is Rocky is that, what the hell makes you so special huh? If I'm worthless then what does that make you, I'll tell you what it makes you a piece of SHIT."
Rocky was stunned never had Marshall stood up to someone like that. He never once thought that Marshall would ever do that to him especially, but he did and now it was Rocky's turn to fight back.
"Marshall don't forget I'm the most intelligent pup on the team and make inventions that not only can save lives but can change them as well. So next time think twice before calling me worthless you klutz," Rocky said as both pups were now muzzle to muzzle both looking like they were about to fight each other.
