the dew from early morning grass wet his bare feet as he slowly made his way to the middle of the large field with a little black book in hand that he'd found in one of his desk drawers. the sun had barely peaked over the horizon when he fell to the ground. he laid on the ground hugging the little black book to his chest. when he closed his eyes he saw her, with every blink there was a flash of her. it pained him, it was the only way he could see her anymore.
each little sliver of grass pricked the back of his legs as he shifted slightly on the ground, the sky had changed colors to varies colors of pinks and oranges since he first arrived, but his mind had stayed focused on one thing. her.
he looked at the cover of the little black book he was holding, "there is a story to be told." was engraved in gold. he flipped through the pages reading what he'd wrote to her, his handwriting on each page he filled to front to bottom. when he got to the last page, he remembered he'd left it blank. the page wasn't blank anymore and the handwriting wasn't his. he ran his finger over the line that was scratched onto the page in black.
"i'll leave you with the memory and the aftertaste."
he looked over it over and over again. the lack of capitalization and the mixture of print and cursive, the handwriting was hers.
he closed the book and on the back cover were silver engraved letters that weren't there when he received the book. a tear fell onto the already damp grass underneath him as he read what was written.
"just because it's the end, it doesn't mean it's the end. don't burry this book in a box or in a drawer, don't let the pages rip, don't let the ink smear, don't let the cover catch dust. don't let our love die, don't let our story die."

i didn't really want to leave an authors note on the epilogue but i'm gunna.
i wrote this epilogue accidentally when i was writing a piece for my poetry/writing account on instagram and i flipped out because the piece related so much to this book and i just had to use it. i know it's short but i really like it. if you have any questions about it just comment them. i want to thank you all for bing patient and for reading the story. i love you all.
