What did he just say? He can't say that. He doesn't mean it. He can't mean it. I've barley talked to the guy.
"Are you okay?" He asked standing up.
I can't say it back. I can't.
"Y-yeah. I'm good." I said sitting up on his bed.
He didn't say anything back, he just scratched the back of his neck and paced the room.
"Are you okay?" I asked him.
"I don't know." He said nervously.
"Why don't you know?" I asked again.
"Well I just told you I loved you and you a.) didn't respond, b.) you got all pale and sweaty." He said sitting down.
"I can't say it back. I really wish I could, I really do. But I've only known you a little while.." I replied looking at him.
"I know, I understand. Just, I mean it. I really do, Jacquelyn." He said looking at me.
We looked at each other for awhile.
"I do." He said again after a few minutes.
"I believe you." I replied kissing him.
"Ready to go?" He said unlocking his phone to see the time.
It's 6:35PM.
"Yeah. I'm ready." I said standing up.
I fixed my shirt and Shawn stood up. He opened the door for me and followed behind me down the stairs.
"Bye mom, bye dad, bye Aaliyah." Shawn said opening the front door door for me.
"Where you going?" His dad asked.
"The fair." Shawn replied.
He pushed me out if the door before his dad could get anything else out.
Neither of us could drive yet so we were stuck walking. While we walked we talked.
"So.." I said.
"Soooo..." He replied.
"I don't know what to talk about now." I said.
We had just got done talking about our project.
"We're here so it's okay." He said laughing.
I went up to the little stand where they
sold tickets.
"Can I help you?" I woman asked with a smile.
"Yeah, I need two wristbands." I replied.
She handed me two wristbands.
"That'll be ten dollars." She said with a smile.
I was about to hand her the ten dollar bill when shawn came up and took it out of my hand and handed his ten to the woman. He folded up my ten and put it in my front pocket.
"If you're with me, you're not paying for anything.." He said looking at me.
I felt the heat rushing to my face.
"Awwwwww. Young couples like you two are what the world needs." The lady in the booth said holding her hand to her heart.
Couple? Oh no.
"Have fun." She said as we walked away.
"So now we're a couple." Shawn said smiling at me.
"Just because some random lady in a booth said we're a couple, does not mean we're a couple." I said giggling.
