chapter twenty-five

Sunny felt sorry for what happened between him and his brother. he tried to be comforting, and Kel really appreciated. they were in front of Basil's grave, and Kel started to speak.

-"hey Basil, it's Kel. i'm with Sunny... i'm sorry i didn't visit sooner but i got really busy, you know... we are all sad to see you leave this soon, and i wished i could've done more to help you... you'll always stay in our heart. even if Aubrey, and Hero didn't show it, they cared a lot about you, despite the truth... i'll try to build back our friend group for you, and Mari. and we'll make new memories for you. we love you, Basil. i hope you rest in peace now."
along with these words, Kel put the flowers on Basil's grave. he was so saddened by his childhood friend's death, but held back some tears. Sunny approached the grave a took a deep breath.

-"i'm sorry, i made the promise to never leave you, and i did when you needed me the most. but after everything we went through..."

a little pause from Sunny.

-"i forgive you, my best friend."

he made a small smile toward the grave, and spoke with gentle but low voice. Sunny still wasn't used to talk a lot. Kel wondered by what he meant by "i forgive you." but he walked closer to his boyfriend regardless, and wrapped his arm around his waist.

-"he's in a better place now... you want to visit Mari ?" Kel asked gently. he knew that stuffs such as these would be overwhelming for his dear boyfriend, and he didn't want him to feel this way. but Sunny nodded, and they went to Mari's grave. Sunny stared at it, before finally speaking.

-"hey Mari... it's me, Sunny. they finally know about your real death... it has been pretty rough though. Aubrey is still angry at me but started to forgive me, but Hero didn't... Basil left us without saying anything... i miss you so much, i hope you rest well, big sister..."

Kel noticed Sunny shaking, and immediately hugged him. he knew it was hard for Sunny, his life wasn't easy at all, and he absolutely understood why he was feeling this way. he reassured his boyfriend, calming him down.

-"it's okay Sun, it's okay... i forgave you, and i'll be here for you, always. we'll get through this together, alright ? it's okay."

Sunny nodded, and made a small smile to thank Kel. the tanned boy took the hand of the paler boy, leaving the graveyard. it was still early in the morning, as it was around 11:00-am.
on their way, they saw Aubrey. she just stared at the two boys without saying anything, but she had an angry look. like always ?

-"hey Sun ! wanna hang out together for the day ?"

-"why not.." Kel smiled and took Sunny's hand, running with him somewhere. Sunny got surprised as Kel was making Sunny run with him somewhere.

-"where are we going ?" Sunny asked, already a bit breathless from the running. Kel didn't answered. they arrived to the park, but Kel didn't stop here. they ran to the friend group's hidden spot ? once Kel stopped, he grabbed Sunny by his waist and lifted him up, making him spin in the air. Sunny chuckled, and then giggled, and so Kel did.

he slowly put him back on the ground, and pull the smaller boy against him, kissing the top of his head.

-"i love you, Sunshine." Kel said with a really happy tone. Sunny mumbled a "me too."
