Jadens POV
I woke up to the sound of someon hitting my desk telling me to wake up. "Jaden dude cmon class ended let's go" my friend jax said laughing with my other two friends Connor and Mason.
I got up and grabbed my stuff and we all started heading towards math. "Bro maybe we should just skip" Mason says smirking "nah man I can't my grades are slipping and if they keep going I won't be able to play baseball" I say sighing
"Fineeee maybe we'll learn something fun today" he says patting my back. We walked into class and I sat down and pulled out my stuff waiting for the teacher to come.
"YO YO YO GUYS WE HAVE A NEW STUDENT!" This kid named Jacob says running in and smiling. "Why you so happy??" My ex Ava says with attitude
I rolled my eyes since she always has have an attitude for no reason.
"Because she's hot asf!" He says dabbing up his friends as they start laughing. "Yo bro sit down he's coming!" His friend says pulling him into his seat as they all laugh.
"Good morning class today I have an announcement to make so settle down" everyone stoped talking and Jacob and his friends stoped lauguing. "So it looks like we're having a new student and I would appreciate if you guys could welcome her with us today!"
He says looking towards the door way and doing something with his hands and smiling. We all stared at the girl and watched as she walked in with her head somewhat down. "This is y/n y/l/n and she's gonna be our new student so treat her nicely. Y/n would you like to introduce yourself?" Mr. Brown says
We all stared at her as you could see her fidgeting with her hands. I could see everything pretty clear since I'm only in the third row and the kids in front of me were kinda shorter than me.
She then looked up and that's when I noticed Jacob wasn't really lying. I mean ofc she was really beautiful but I wouldn't have have Putin it the way he said it
"Hi-...my names y/n y/l/n and I'm 16 years old...I recently just moved her from California and I hope to get along with all of you..."she says as everyone's dead silent. She noticed and immediately looked down.
"What's up with you and talking with your hands so much??" Ava says laughing. "Mrs. Espinoza! That is not how we talk to people" Mr. Brown says in a serious tone
"It's okay....i was born deaf in my left ear and I need to sign so I know exactly what I'm saying for others to understand...I'm sorry if it bothers you"
I smiled a bit to myself thinking about how sweet she was. Once she started signing I had a clue since I have a cousin who's deaf and I also knew some sign language.
"Alright y/n you can either sit next to jaden over here or Jacob" the teacher says pointing at us. Jacob was smiling at her weirdly making by me roll my eyes in disgust. "Him" she says pointing at me. I smiled a bit and moved my papers which were all on her side.
"Hi- sorry. about all this hehe-" I say quickly moving it and laughing awkwardly "it's ok" she says and signing it
"Now that that's wrapped up let's turn to page 15 in our notes"
4 WEEKS LATER
Y/n's POV
I woke up to the sound of my alarm going off on my bed and I got ready for school. School wasn't going the way I Thought it would.
I had two friends sorta and people were constantly mocking me. I've always hated going to school especially with my hearing aid. At my old school kids would play catch with it and sometimes drop it on purpose, and sadly today was the day I had to wear it.
SCHOOL
I wore my hair down to cover it up the most I could and walked to math class. I sat down and the boy who sits next to me wasn't there yet which I was kinda sad about since I've kinda grown a liking to him since he would make this girl behind me stop bullying me.
I opens up my book and started to read until it finally started. "Y/n...y/n...y/n!" I hear the girl and her friends laughing "god I thought she still had one good ear???" She says as they burst into laughter and start snapping their fingers.
I focused on my book and held back my tears. "HEY! I'm talking to you!" The girl says pulling my book away "can you give it back please" I say with my hands "how about you ask without using your hands" she says pulling in up I higher for me not to reach. I began jumping to try and get it but that was a bad idea...
"What's this??" She says yanking out my hearing aid making me stop "please give it back it my hearing aid please. I need it to help me hear!" "But why I thought you were completely deaf in your left ear. Or were you just lying this whole time??" She says laughing
I started crying and I kept reaching for my hearing aid but she was taller than me. "AVA!" I hear someone yell at the doorway making the girl stop and turn around
"Relax Jaden I'm just playing with her." She says waving it around. He looked at me and then looked back at her. "Give y/n back her hearing aid right now" he says in a Sturn voice "so how come you know what this is? Oh YEAHH you also have a deaf freak in your family." She says laughing
Jaden came up you her and grabbed it out of her hand and came up to me
"I'm sorry" he says while doing sign. I wiped my tears and smiled "thank you" i say signing back
"Oh so what you like deaf freaks now?? Is that your type now? Why don't you try telling her you love her in sign" She says looking at him "why don't you try learning sign so we don't have to listen to your screechy voice all the time?" He says making everyone laugh
The girl scoffed and walked back to her seat and jaden grabbed my hand and took me to the bathroom.
"I'm sorry about Ava. She can be a real bitch" he says while signing making me laugh "it's okay. Thank you for always sticking up for me and getting my hearing aid back" I say smiling
Jaden's POV
I chuckled and I grabbed the hearing aid from my pocket and turned it on and gently moved her hair out of the way and put it back on. "There you go" I say smiling "how do you know how to put it on?" She says
I thought to myself since I wasn't the absolute best at sign but I taught myself more over these last couple weeks since I knew I wanted to talk to her
"Ok well umh-....my little...couisn is also deaf so that's why I know how to...somewhat sign and work a hearing aid....I know I'm not the best but I know some and I plan on learning more" he says using his hands
I laughed at how cute he was trying to focus on sign and get it right "I really appreciate you for signing. It makes me feel better" I say smiling
He smiled back at me and we stood there for a bit until he leaned in and kissed me. We kissed for a bit until he pulled away "hey I've been meaning to ask this but would you like to go out sometime?...like on a date..." he says making me smile "I'd love to" I say as he pulls me in for another kiss.
