Well, it was like any other school day. The alarm goes off, I make my coffee and sip a bit before my Bean wakes up. This is how we kickstart our school days. Bean is a beautiful girl with hazel eyes to melt your heart. She has the most infectious laugh and is very smart. This talented child draws with digital art and uses different mediums. I could not be more proud of my 15 year old baby girl. Some days, you wake up with a sore throat. You can't distinguish if it's dry and scratchy because you were catching flies all night while you slept, dry heat, or the beast strep throat. When in doubt, it's usually a call to the doctor's office for an appointment. Sometimes it becomes the more convenient, trip to urgent care. It's strange being handed a diagnosis of "viral sore throat" because Covid, Flu, RSV & Strep all came back negative. This is what the call it so you can have something to read on your discharge papers when they don't actually know. This my friend, is what you get when they stop looking. Sometimes this becomes very repetitive. Yeah, even with tonsils and adenoids removed you can still get strep throat. The most irritating thing is the de-ja-vou feeling of going back and expecting an answer when the diagnosis is on repeat. I have realized that science is not always exact when it comes to medicine. My Bean went to urgent care twice in a 12 day span. The first time, no one did an xray even though we had a nasty cough. Every swab test across the board was negative. The second visit, someone finally listened to me and ordered an xray. Little did I know my life was about to change in a very fast and drastic way.
