Chapter 4: Love By The Fire

Upon arrival at the Davila Grounds, it seemed very empty. Mira and Renee were very confused, usually at this time they would be having a bonfire.

"Let me call Lycus", Renee said taking out her phone and calling Lycus.

Luckily Lycus answered within two rings, "Renee, hi".

"Hey Lycus, me and Mira are at the grounds right now cause we had to tell y'all something important", Renee said.

"Oh sorry, I suggested we go out for a change so we did, we'll be home soon", Lycus answered.

Mira took the phone from Renee's hand, "Hey Ly, can you put Conri on the phone please"?

"Uh yeah sure", Lycus handed the phone to Conri and he began to speak, "Mira hey".

"Conri real quick I gotta tell you something, if you see a woman or a man that has an inhuman aura stay away from them, they're sirens. I just met one of them, he almost coaxed me into the water with him", Mira explained.

Conri froze, "Mira...we literally just saw some blonde chick walk outta here with an aura like that".

"Be careful, from what I experienced tonight they're tricksters and will do anything to get what they want", Mira warned.

"I'll warn the pack and we'll keep an eye out, thanks Mira", Conri said.

"You're welcome, see ya later", Mira hung up the phone and handed back to Renee, "Sorry for snatching the phone from your hands.

"It's alright, you heading back to the manor", Renee asked?

"Yeah Ryder deserves a worry break, you gonna stay and wait for them to get back", Mira asked?

Renee nodded and sat on the wooden bench by the fire pit, "Yeah, I uh...wanna talk to Lycus".

Mira slightly smiled, "Alright, see you soon then".

Mira ran off leaving Renee alone...

Later on the Davila's cars pulled up, and they all got out. Lycus noticed a familiar figure sitting by the fire pit.

Lycus sat next to Renee, "I see you stayed".

"Yeah...I..I actually wanted to talk to you", Renee said.

Lycus quirked a brow, "Okay...about what"?

Renee was silent till she saw most of the wolves enter their cabins, she took a deep breath and began explaining herself, "Lycus, for a while now I've felt like we've gotten closer".

"I think so too, it's nice spending time with you", Lycus said smiling.

Renee got closer to him, "And...I've developed..feelings I haven't felt in decades for someone else".

Lycus's heart skipped a beat, "What...".

"I...I...oh fuck it", Renee grabbed Lycus's face and crashed her lips into his. They both closed their eyes, and touched each other's bodies as they kissed.

Once Renee finally pulled away, "Lycus...I love you, and I have for a while now".

Lycus smiled softly and put a hand on her cheek, "I love you too Renee, you are so perfect and I'd love you to be...my mate.

Renee tackled Lycus into a hug. They both laughed with each other, happy they finally admitted their love for each other...

On this night Renee was invited to the Davila's bonfire. She did some light makeup and her hair, put on a classy shirt with some jeans and sneakers and left.
