Chapter 8: Calling It Quits

Date: March 5th 2022
At the Copeland Manor

"I've made up my mind, that's what I'm gonna do", Mira said.

"But Mira what if he uses his tricks on you again", Joshua asked?

"It's okay, Sage told us she's almost done with the spell and will bring it over soon...I should be fine", Mira said defending herself.

Mira had a plan to go to the area where she last Kaito, hoping to see him again. And strike him down with a spell and interrogate him. But not everyone was completely on board yet.

"Sage just texted me, she said she's at the gate I'm gonna go let her in", Isaac said walking out the front door.

Isaac walked up to the gate to see a familiar purple haired woman standing there waiting for him. She had a spell book and bag in her hands.

"Hey Isaac, care to let me in", Sage asked with a smile?

Isaac returned the smile, "Of course", Isaac opened the gate, "Come on in".

The two walked back up to the front door and Isaac let Sage inside. Everyone got back to talking.

"Sage, glad you're here, do you have the spell ready", Mira asked?

Sage nodded reaching into her bag. She pulled out a little pouch, "This contains a powder that can incapacitate a siren for up to ten minutes if it's thrown onto them".

Mira took the pouch from Sage, "All I have to do is throw it on him"?

"That's all you have to do, it will weaken him and mute his siren abilities", Sage explained, "Use it wisely and make sure you plan your attack".

"I will, thank you for your help Sage", Mira thanked the witch.

Sage smiled at her vampire friend, "It was my pleasure, I'll be off now, call me if you need anything else".

"I'll walk you out", Isaac said.

Sage and Isaac walked out to the gate, "I hope everything goes okay", Sage said.

"I'm sure it will", Isaac said back.

Sage was caught looking into Isaac's eyes for a moment, then she found her face moving closer to his. Without blinking she quickly kissed Isaac on the cheek, making them both blush.

"I...nevermind that...goodbye Isaac", Sage quickly walked away.

Isaac was gonna say something but his words were caught in his throat. Now she was too far away for her to hear him. He cursed to himself, it was his chance...his chance to tell her how he really felt.

A while later....

Mira decided to dress up a bit. She put on a little black dress with her hair up in a high ponytail. She put the magic dust Sage gave her in a purse.

Mira quickly left the manor and made her way to the restaurant she'd hope Kaito was at. Once she got there she got a seat at the bar and got a drink. And just as she suspected, Kaito came in not long after she did.

Kaito noticed Mira sitting at the bar and came to join her, "You look lonely over here all by yourself".

"Kaito, my this is a surprise", Mira said with a fake smile.

Kaito sat in a chair next to her, "No girl should ever be alone at a bar".

"Well thank goodness I'm not alone anymore now am I", Mira said slyly.

"Say Mira may I buy you a drink", Kaito asked?

"Actually...can I buy you a drink", Mira asked with a smirk?
