I didn't know how long had passed since then. Hopefully it wasn't too bad. Then again taking Medusa out of Odalia was as painful as bathing in acid then rubbing salt all over my body.
A small groan left my lips as I dared to try and open my eyes. Bad idea on my part because as soon as I did the sun burned them. A small hiss left my lips as I heard King gasp on my left, no doubt he was watching over me. Probably because Eda told him to. I could faintly hear him yelling as he ran out of the room. The sound was distant as I tried to get my bearings enough to sit up properly.
"Easy kiddo, you had quite the nasty fall when you came back." Eda had interrupted my attempt at sitting up, pushing me back into a comfortable position.
"How long was I out?" My voice sounds rough, like I hadn't spoken or had any water in days. A cough escapes me before Eda hands me a glass of water that instantly soothes my throat.
"You've been out for a couple days, kiddo. Had me worried when you showed up like that." She gave me a look of concern that seemed foreign on her. I look down, guilt gnawing at my stomach like hundreds of termites on wood. Then a thought makes my blood run cold as I bolt up and look around the room.
"Woah!"
"Weh!"
Eda and King are easily startled by this but I don't have time to think about it. I have to-
There it is. Right on the table. Laying there harmlessly.
I breathe out a sigh of relief, carefully picking it up.
"Kid what was that all about?" I look back at Eda, who I hadn't realized had followed me. I give her the most serious look I can.
"We need to find a place to keep this, somewhere no one will ever find it, until I can find a way to get rid of it....permanently." She gives me a look of complete understanding and nods.
"I know a place. It's not far from here and has its own guardian. I don't know if she'll accept but it wouldn't hurt to ask." Eda got up and grabbed the paper. I could tell she was being extremely careful with it because of my reaction to it.
"That's good, I wouldn't have a clue on where to start if I tried myself." I relaxed a bit. If Eda says it's safe then it's probably a good idea to listen. At least when it comes to dangerous and serious stuff. I go to get up off the couch, that I didn't even realize I sat down on, but a hand on my shoulder stops me.
"And wear do you think you're going? After the scare you gave me you are staying here and resting. That means no magic, no mischief, and no leaving the house." I give a disappointed sigh at this. I really should've expected that.
"Fine but would it be ok to have my friends over? So I'm not bored all day?" As she starts to think on this, Hooty decided to barge in and coil around me.
"OH LUZ! You have gueEests!" I squirm trying to get out of his hold.
"Hooty let go!" I'm finally able to escape and move towards the door.
"Who would even visit me? I never told anyone-" I'm cut off from my own rambling as I open the door.
"LUZ!" Three sets of golden eyes set upon me before I'm scooped into a hug pile.
Of course it was the Blights.
Amity's POV:
A lot of things have happened since Luz came around.
She's changed everything and risked even more for people she doesn't even really know.
She helped Willow. She helped me. She gave me my mom back!
She didn't have to do any of this, especially for practical strangers!
So why did she?
That's something that's been on my mind since that day. We met not even two days before then. Yet she risked her life, her MAGIC even, all for me.
Why would she do that?
I don't know.
But I intend to find out.
A/N: It really doesn't feel like it's been 2 years but it has and I have no excuses.
